Yeah it is oil but when it comes to brakes for example or something from suspension parts you will definitely feel the difference.

I drove both a 1M & GT3 at a track practice session today. They are just completely different beasts. The 1M is so much more 'fun' and forgiving, the GT3 is way more hardcore and demands your attention. It's a tough choice to pick between the two.
OP: I think you need to ask yourself what you need from the car. The 1M is great pocket rocket and has so much character - it's just a fun car. It will also probably retain a lot of it's value in the years to come - I can't imagine letting mine go! The Porsche is much more focused and capable but if you're not going to explore that side - there's no point. I would personally sway for a 997.5 C2S or 997 Turbo at your price point. |

Definitely have to disagree with Porsche's aren't tracked comment. Like someone said, Porsche supports a lot of owners and grassroots racing. It's what the brand is built on. A lot of the Porsche guys here are on the track and have heaps of fun. The few status symbols shouldn't ruin the enthusiasts car company.
I love BMW but Porsche is always magical. Something to be said about a car that is developed from the word go to be exactly what it is - 60 years of improvements haven't hurt one bit either! |

Thanks to John and his Cayman R and a 911 Carrera GTS drive I had last year I'm getting the Porsche blues pretty bad, haha.
Still, deciding between a 1M and a C4S, sucks to be you, haha. Either way you win. |

Would be a crime not to track that thing! CS has factory half roll cage and 4 point harnesses. Touring has leather seats and carpet back. No rear seats! Haven't had a go at the PCCB but stock brakes are perfectly adequate for track days. |
