Buy a BM on the corporate plan if you can and you get 4 years or 60,000 free servicing, also they are ~25k intervals.

Porsche...... Nothing but cost.

Hmmm, I dunno, I think you could associate stereotype with any car north of $100,000.

That said, I wouldn't been seen dead in a drug dealers red Ferrari.

Yeah it is oil but when it comes to brakes for example or something from suspension parts you will definitely feel the difference.

I think most drug dealers moved on to C63s, Gallardos and R8s

What also craps me about the 4S Carreras its a "inbetween" car.... either a 2S or Turbo...

I drove both a 1M & GT3 at a track practice session today. They are just completely different beasts. The 1M is so much more 'fun' and forgiving, the GT3 is way more hardcore and demands your attention. It's a tough choice to pick between the two.

OP: I think you need to ask yourself what you need from the car. The 1M is great pocket rocket and has so much character - it's just a fun car. It will also probably retain a lot of it's value in the years to come - I can't imagine letting mine go!

The Porsche is much more focused and capable but if you're not going to explore that side - there's no point. I would personally sway for a 997.5 C2S or 997 Turbo at your price point.

Definitely have to disagree with Porsche's aren't tracked comment. Like someone said, Porsche supports a lot of owners and grassroots racing. It's what the brand is built on. A lot of the Porsche guys here are on the track and have heaps of fun. The few status symbols shouldn't ruin the enthusiasts car company.

I love BMW but Porsche is always magical. Something to be said about a car that is developed from the word go to be exactly what it is - 60 years of improvements haven't hurt one bit either!

Service costs on my 911 have been well below all of the BMWs I've owned.

Also service on a 911 is far more comprehensive affair. They change most oils and filters and have a closer look at stuff.

None of this life-fill crap or 30K kms oil changes.

Thanks to John and his Cayman R and a 911 Carrera GTS drive I had last year I'm getting the Porsche blues pretty bad, haha.

Still, deciding between a 1M and a C4S, sucks to be you, haha.

Either way you win.

Been eying off that car for weeks, ceramic brakes and all (not recommended for track work however, due to replacement pads etc costs) I may be wrong but GT3's don't have rear seats at all, they are either clubsport with cage & fire ext, or just nice carpet without cage.

Porsche brissy has a really nice looking CS4 997.

That looks so good!

Would be a crime not to track that thing! CS has factory half roll cage and 4 point harnesses. Touring has leather seats and carpet back. No rear seats!

Haven't had a go at the PCCB but stock brakes are perfectly adequate for track days.

Waiting for the 991 to be out and have the 997 nose dive to pick up maybe a bargain but by then I may fall in love with the 1M that is on route to Oz.
