If it's the same system as the 3-series, then the new business navigation uses Flash memory (NAND chip similar to an SD card). It also has the smaller 6.5" screen and a CD Drive (no DVD drive). The maps are updated via the USB port in the glove box.

As suggested previously by x5mad, you need to find an Oz map (for download) and buy a unique FSC code based on your VIN. There are plenty of maps for download for US & Europe on GPSunderground, but so far none for Oz.

So only option at this stage is via a dealer.
