+1 for the DS2500 as a combo street/light-duty track pad - I love them!

I picked up 01's for the front and 06's for the back which will be going on next weekend. Curious too see how the 5-hour road trip turns out

Interesting combination. Why did you go with the endurance pads in the back? I've used both on other cars and they are both great but am not familiar with mixing them.

He is right. Bmw have lots of brake balance to the rear.

A good combination is also Pagid yellows rear and and more aggressive pad front. To get better brake balance.

I bought my PFC in holland so no point for you to order there. But those pads can be ordered at race suppliers al over the world which are pfc dealers.

thanks...when i was looking for my brake pads (2 months ago)...was told that pfc06 wasnt available for the fronts...so i went with the 01s. I then met a local track guy and he said a local pfc dealer had special ordered a small batch of 06 (but all sold out). When i use up the 01s, i'll try to hunt down some 06s.

I was told by two sources -- one of which is Bimmerworld -- that PFC06 pads were not avaialble.

For my track use, I'd prefer them over the PFC01 pads I'm currently running. So, if anyone can identify a source, please post up!

Thanks.

Do you guys change them out after track sessions or do you leave them in for DD use as well?

I swap them out at home and drive to/from track with them.

another great pads to consider are RS19 Yellow pads ... Works very good with stock brakes and don't rattle like PF pads ...

PF pads are great but very noisy ...

What about Carbotech, any experience with those? Had them on my Evo, the XP10 version, considering XP8 fro the BM.

I have a set of carbotech xp10's ready to go. My first track weekend is next weekend so I'll let you know how it goes. I had them on my JCW MINI and loved them. I hope they perform just as well on the M.

Turn rotors

Any need to sand or run the rotors when changing pads? Carbotec suggest "turning rotors" when installing there pads but I think it is difficult to impossible to turn our drilled rotors. Thoughts?

Well i ran the carbo tech XP10's this weekend. they held up well on a pretty technical track ( www.motorsportranch.com - we ran the 3.1 track config ) if i had it to do again i would do the XP12's which would be perfect. keep in mind i didnt change out the rear pads so its possible the XP10s would have been better with rear pads as well. but at my skill level right now the XP10s worked great for the most par.
