Finally in a 1
Hey guys, so after being on here trying to decide what car to buy I ended up in an MKVI GTI, nothing against the car, it was fun, quick and handled extremely well. But I missed BMW after leaving my E46 and as great as the GTI is, it was FWD and there was no getting around that unfortunately. So traded it in and got a 2009 128i with 94k (higher mileage but owned by a 66 year old female doctor that lived in Cleveland and commuted to Pittsburg everyday, maintenance program and CPO). Volkswagen screwed me over when I had a flywheel noise at just 41k, BMW has been excellent and now getting plugs, air filter, cabin filter, brakes all around, oil change and brake fluid flush all done at 98k when I hit it. Car has been a blast, all I've done so far is 3500k fogs, powdercoated the rims black, 35% tint all around and the BEST investment was a passport 8500. Oh and took out the cats after the sensors and the muffler and now I'm thinking to get rid of the resonator, the exhaust sounds amazing under load. And if you're looking for an excellent tire that won't kill your bank I bought the Sumitomo HTRZ II and for 75 bucks a piece it grips well and not noisey on the highway and I have 3 track runs on them since I've put them on, can't use it up north though (just moved to Florida). Planning on powdercoating the grills and possibly doing a high gloss roof like I had on my WRX, love the look on white but not sure yet.
The day I bought the car, How she sits now, And the exhaust (Those are corvette tips, I was against GM parts at first but they look really clean in person, might go black chrome on them though). http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/...psd6576bd2.mp4 Any opinions/ideas much appreciated.. |

Thanks, and yea I know it's a ton for the year. My plan is to get an E38 to eleviate some of the miles coming up, but the car is so fun to drive. I maintain my cars religiously so I don't see any issues with this car coming up.

Looks great! Mods to do next would be to get/paint the kidneys black and get a performance spoiler (painted or carbon fiber) for the trunk. My two favorite, and cheap, mods done to my 135.

Looking great! I have less than 30K on my 2009. I also put on black grills and mud flaps. I like the look on AW. It appears you have the sports package which mine also has.

Welcome!
I'm right in Broadview Heights and work in Solon. I might see your car around. EDIT: Just read everything and saw you moved to Florida. Bummer. |

congrats to the op...
like bimmerguy3 i am coming (back) to bmw from a 2010 vw gti mk6. i owned a bmw 335xi prior to that, and was really drawn to the gti. a few years later and i've found myself missing the refinement that bmw offers. this time around, though i've gone with a 2013 bmw 135i that i picked up last night. going in for tint tomorrow, then will be scheduling a clear bra, then a quick photo shoot (hopefully by end of the week). anywho, i didn't intend to thread-jack here but thought this was a good a place as any to make an intro. |

I used to always see your Z4M Coupe at BMW Cleveland and I was thinking about getting a Z4 coupe after seeing yours but the interior + rear seats of the 1 got me.. And I'm finally out of Ohio.
