SES light, misfire, hesitation my tales of woe

A short intro:
08 135i bought used from a Chevy dealership in early March with 60,000m. Knew it had exhaust, but didn't know enough to ask the right questions. Turns out it has downpipes, exhaust, Intake and Procede V3.

Luckily it had a 30 day warranty.
SES light came on and it was misfiring very bad. Codes said misfire so they changed the spark plugs and bad injectors (they said they were in the "open" position whatever that means). Runs fine for a week, problem comes back.

This time they kept the car for two weeks and couldn't nail it down so they replaced the HPFP. Problem goes away. Then comes back several weeks later. At this point I wanted to drive it off a cliff.

During this time we learn it is tuned and I was in contact with Vishnu to see what firmware and such was on the car. But I dropped the ball on this since one morning when on startup it smoked a lot, then magically became a new car.

No misfire on WOT, perfect idle on all maps. Nothing, zero nada for the last few months. Then Saturday, SES light comes on.

I have been reading just about every thread on every forum and I have most of the fixes already done. I am going to datalog the Procede this weekend, but my first step is going to get the walnut blast done. It already has a new HPFP, injectors and plugs. Hopefully the blast will fix it.from reading all the posts it seems like everyone's car overcomes this problem a hundred different ways. Next step after walnut blast is coils. I also need to get acquainted with my Procede to read the misfire codes stored.

On an unrelated note, of course, last week the water pump also went out :-(.

But what can you say, I knew somewhat what I was getting into. I have other BMWs but good Lord is this car fun to drive when it's working right. I love it, but ill love it a lot more if I can get this misfire thing under control.

I can't say enough about the guys at the Chevy dealership either. They worked with me well past the 30 days and didn't charge me a dime. They have me new injectors, pump and plugs. Once kind of knew what was going on I figured I could work with my great independent shop to finally get this sorted.

I can't get too upset about the whole thing. I'm the dumbass that knows better to buy used BMWs with no CPO, but I had to have this car. I had been looking for an N54 6MT m sport with no idrive for quite a while. I figure my out of pocket is still better than if I had put all the tuner parts and wheels/tires on myself.

It sounds like all the modding is what is getting you.. do you have the option of just going stock?

Not really, all the parts were installed when I bought it. Would need a lot to go back to stock. And I have the tuner bug pretty bad. I haven't had a stock car in decades. I think the tuner may amplify the problem but its not the root cause.
