^^^^ Ouch C'mon a 128i is a very nice car. Quick nimble looks great... I had a 128i coupe for a loaner and I was surprised how fast it was.
To the OP's question. I mostly get an X3 as a loaner and it is boring. Once I had a new Z4 3.0 and that was very cool.

I own both the E82 and E89. The 128i doesn't feel heavier at all. The only thing I really see different is the cornering, throttle response and shifting. Everything else was very comparable.

The X3 is a different vehicle from a 1 Series. It's rather pointless to compare them, they are made for different purposes.
Having had a 2011 X3 35i, I can say the new X3 is much improved over the previous gen X3, and, in the world of SUVs/SAVs et al, it is a very decent machine. Try driving some of the others and see how much "fun" they are. BTW, IMO, just because you have a 1 Series, you don't need to dump on other's choices. It just shows immaturity. Of course, if you consider your car to be your "baby girl", maybe you actually are immature.

I had a Tiburon on loan once when I owned my STI, yuck!!! The second time I needed a loaner I demanded an Evo. It was fun to compare it to the 'roo.

I had an accident a few years ago. The insurer gave me a Hyundai Getz while it was in the shop for repairs.

My dealer was out of loaners so they put in a Enterprise rental. A 4 cyl Dodge Avenger. What a POS! The radio and the rest of the dashboard controls face the PASSENGER!

My wife drives a 2013 X3 35i and it is a blast to drive in sport mode. 0-60 in 5.5 seconds is rather quick for an SUV. The worst loaner I've had so far was a Dodge Caliber, holy crap that thing was a pile of turds.

I'm going to assume you are completely out of touch with cars. True, the E89 has horrific BMW electric power steering. I can see why the 128i would be jarring from that with all these weird sensations coming through the wheel.
