Those would not be BMW. ECS uses almost entirely OEM parts instead of OE.

So got my dyno's done today. The manifold and AA tune are worth about 18HP and 10ft/lbs. Crank HP calculates to be 259hp, aka stock 130i levels of power. Thats with a 15% correction.
SAE CORRECTION(i personally don't care for this after being educated by the dyno guys) STD CORRECTION Best stock run VS best intake and tune run

That's in line with Turner's advertised 260 HP for the manifold kit + performance software (which a lot of folks have guessed is an Active tune). Congrats.

If thats the case then the turner combo isn't such a bad deal. $280 for manifold, $100 for install, $600 for active tune and tuner(with a coupon for $250 off the tuner).

That's pretty exciting! A lot of the time I wish for a 6MT. Do you think the gains are the same for an AT?

Glad i could help! I wish i could take it a step further with headers as i originally planned, but they're just too expensive for me to justify. I want to start saving up for my next car.. hoping i can get either an e46 m3 or an e9x in a few years when they're a bit cheaper.

A before and after dyno! Thought I'd never see it. Thank you, sincerely.

So did you drive your car around a little before going on the dyno after the tune? I heard (and mind you people can tell me pretty much anything about cars) the vehicle has to "get used to" the new setup.
After I tuned my car I wasn't that sure I could feel any significant difference in performance. According to the guys that tuned my car, all kinds of sensors needed to learn the new setup first. After I spent about a tank of gas I started to notice more aggressive acceleration. Any thoughts on this? I still need to head over to Germany to test the high speed performance. Will probably do that next year as the weather is getting worse over here. Topspeed I reached without the tune is 241km/h on the speedo on a flat straight. Very curious to see what it does after the tune |

I drove it for about 30 minutes on the highway with the new manifold and without the tune, and it drove.. strange. The valves didnt seem to know when to open and it was a bit laggy. After i tuned it, It felt perfectly smooth again. Though, i did have a misfire for a while that hindered my spirited driving.

And you guys are still down vs a 130i, which tuned is at 280. I guess is due to euro header and no rear cats. I am glad I have a Euro Spec 130i! But good job 128i folks

My suspicion is that europe has MUCH more experienced tuners and that they can get most power out of the n52's compared to AA. Evolve probably has better gains but was also $400 more compared to AA.
