Bluetooth Music Streaming
My wife's X3 has bluetooth music streaming, i'm sure many of you have it. Very cool.
My car does not have it, can you buy some sort of dongle to plug into the USB port so allow streaming? |

Yep, aslong as you have CIC navigation and not CCC you can get combox fitted, that'll make it so you can see your playlists on screen, if you get connected drive you'll also gain a proper iPhone display on your screen

If you just want simple BT streaming just go one of these or similar, there are heaps on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bluetooth...ffd18f2&_uhb=1 Powered by USB, connects to the 3.5mm jack. Pair with your phone and use the Aux in on the deck/I-drive. |

I'm not sure of the advantage of having Bluetooth streaming, over just plugging the phone via the earphone jack. Do you lose sound quality with Bluetooth streaming?
Not having iDrive in my car, I find the easiest way is with my music loaded on a USB stick. You can swap tracks via the the wheel buttons. Probably not so good if you have hundreds of individual tracks, but I have only albums on my USB stick. |

I have it connected to the BMW Y-Adapter under the armrest. My phone is paired with both the "i-Wave" (That's what it detects as when you search for it in Bluetooth Settings) and the Car itself. When I get in the car it connects automatically to both. Music comes out of the "Aux Line-In" on the head unit and it pauses and uses the car audio if there is a call. Completely seamless. TL;DR? Yes. You're welcome to test with mine and make sure it does what you want... |
