BMW 1M cars with Belgian license plates (statistics)
Update of the list of 1M cars with Belgian license plates (status as of December 17, 2015).
I'll update this post whenever I am (made) aware of changes or new entries. 210 1M cars identified so far. Of course there has been overlap due to sale, resale and/or license plate replacement, resulting into the same cars getting new identities. All three colors representing ± 1/3 (AW leading leading the 1M pack ahead of BSM and VO):

Hello Artemis,
I am trying to maintain a database of 1Ms in several countries, including Belgium. Several cars have already been exported, others have been imported and a significant numbers have been re-registered with a second of even third owner...not to count those crashed or stolen...so it's not an easy task especially taking into account that license plates are changing in Belgium, from one owner to another! Nevertheless, Belgium is a country where I think I have quite accurate data. I have identified a total of 159 different individual cars that have been registered in Belgium, the oldest one (=closest to the first produced) is VP74930 and the newest (=closest to the last one produced) is VU27405. Around 9% of these cars are not original Belgian cars but have been imported from another country so I can say that I have 146 cars which are original "Belgium" cars. I am probably missing another 15 or so well hidden cars as unfortunately this is not "exact science"... On the 159 cars that I have on my register, 59 (37%) are AW, 52 (33%) are BSM and 47 (30%) are VO, which is in phase with your own statistics. Hope it helps. |
Appreciate
