Adaptive Headlight Error
Can anyone out there help me fix my adaptive headlight error? The problem is like a lot of us 1ers is that water got in my headlight. Took to a shop where they dried it out got it working with halos, hi/lo beams everything. Only problem is that its throwing an adaptive headlight error and wont realign. They are in good working order but just don't have the function they should. BMW obviously wants $150 just to look at it plus all the labor and parts to fix it. My problem being they told me they have seen this before but it could take them 15 mins-8 hours to fix it and I don't want to take out a mortgage to pay bmw rates. So can anyone help me or point me in the direction of someone who can help me for cheaper??? I live in the western Maryland area if that helps.

Needs a new module on the affected side, as well as coding. Turn the key on with the headlights in the automatic position. Which side does not do a test sweep (left right up down)? That module is defective.

Do you have aftermarket halos? Lots of people stuff the inner part of the headlight with a xenon bulb, there is very little room inside the housing and this can cause the motor for the AHL to burn up. Make sure nothing is prevents the headlight from moving.
You could end up needing a new headlight and (footwell)module + coding.

The headlights and halos all work perfectly. Only problem I can tell is the adaptive headlights. They don't adjust on either side from what I can tell. Is there a part number for the modules?
