Becuase unlike previous meets there are limited spots for the "breakfast" at the chosen venue at stop 1. Instead of having only 50 cars in the meet they decided to have a second group roll out 1.5 hours later that basically meet up with the 1st group after they have eaten. Now within these groups there are smaller groups of 8 or so cars , much easier to coordinate cars if they are split. Last meet was my first BMW club qld and it was very organized. A lot more organized than just 1er meet ups or so Vinney tells me.

I'll be there, in the second group meeting at the same meeting point at 7.30. I believe there are spare places in the second group, for those who are iterested, which would be preferable to just "turning up" for the first group when the limit has already been reached.

Yes I am just turning up , all of the 1ers are in the first group. I'm not going to be eating so i don't find any problem with this as its merely a drive with the "breakfast" out of the picture.

Please remember that this is a BMW club event. People that want to go should join the club and take part like everyone else. The reason these drives are so well organised is because very dedicated club members scout out the routes and destinations well in advance and then control the numbers. The maximum numbers are not only for breakfast but to control numbers in individual groups. When people show up unannounced it stuff's up all the work they do behind the scene's and the end result is that these drive events will not be anywhere near as organised as what they are now. I suggest that everyone that owns a BMW and enjoys doing these types of events joins up get yourself added to the BMW club facebook group or the email discussion list so that you can have advance knowledge of when these days are on and then email the club and let them know that you will be there.

Just got back from mainland China, no chance I'll be in a fit state to enjoy a drive so have a good run tomorrow everyone.
I agree with Anthony also, if you enjoy the events run by the BMW Club, consider joining to help keep it a strong and thriving group! I think a lot of you would fit in well given your passion for driving. |

I still got the free membership form somewhere in my pile of paperwork. Does the club get paid by BMW Aust? If not, I will just pay to join.

And those dents in Vinney's left rear wheel arch - were they new or pre-existing?
I did a double take when I saw them at Spicers. I have about 20 minutes of footage of Karl spinning his tyres and throwing stones at me at every corner. Thanks Karl. For the record, that is why I stayed so far behind you, not because I couldn't keep up.

I can see my car hiding behind Nik's. I brought my Canon but didn't take it out of the bag...

You were on my @rse for much of the last stint. There was one bridge crossing that bottomed out either my front right shock/spring or the tyre against the rim. Wonder if it happened there? Washed my car this morning and couldn't see any damage. |

Tim: Yeah... That's where I think it happened too... Darien got that bit on video and you can hear a crunch when the nose comes down...
Vinney: I got some photos but most of them are a bit blurry (Darien taking them from the passenger seat)... Still got a few good ones though - will upload them when I get a sec... Work is nuts at the moment... |

I left my Nikon in the boot. The car was that filthy by the time we hit the breakfast stop I couldn't be bothered.
I'm looking forward to some of Andrew's shots though from the roadside and up on the hill at the resort.
