Possible Rota G-Force group buy...

I just spoke to Zoeb at WheelDude about a group buy and he said all he would need was 5 people, and its a go. This would require a $200 non-refundable deposit, and would total $900.

The sizes and offsets would be subject to the Rota engineering dept review but they will be near the sizes below:

18 x 8.5 et 42
18 x 9 et 43

18 x 8.5 pics

18 x 9 pics

Lets get this started...

Are we confident that these offsets are good?

I'm interested, but don't want to put down a deposit until I know what the exact offset/tire sizes i'll be able to run will be.

any ETA on delivery after the GB is started.

Thanks!

My current wheels are 18 x 8 et40 (225/40) & 18 x 9 et43 (255/35). They fit perfectly. I think the offsets suggested will work just fine. These offsets will be confirmed by Rota prior to manufacture. I think these will look awesome...

Zoeb said that he could do it with only 5 people. Getting 10 people seems to be difficult around here...

Don't worry, I won't go into an argument about quality again

For those interested in a rub free setup, you might want to request something around these offsets...

18x8.5 +46 offset
18x9 +50 offset

Although This is a 19" wheel, the same offsets are used regardless of diameter. this should fit a 235/265 setup comfortably...

Zoeb needs to run these offset by the Rota engineering Dept. I want the most aggressive offsets as possible...

I believe this set up could be a little better with a 4-5mm lower offset. I'm still in for my OP purposed offsets or et42 front, and et45 rear max.

Take a look at the VMR CSL reps if you want to see what that will look like.

Plus, with a 45 offset, a 255 in the back has a fairly good chance of rubbing

The VMR's are 9.5 et45, these will be 9.0 et45. I will buy VMR reps for sure if I cant get four more people. These should be perfect for 255's...

I actully work with a fellow 128 owner who might be interested, however he is not into spending any money on his car.

.5 inches is around 13 mm. But i think if you ever wanna carry stuff or people in your car, you'd get a higher offset so things dont rub.

I'm actually have no affiliation with WheelDude, I am just a consumer trying to get 4 people together who might want an aggressive set up that will not rub with 225/255 or 235/255. If you are looking for a 235/265, I agree you might have some issues.

I have 9.0 rears et43 and have 255's on my car now (Toyo R1R's) and they acutually measures with a tape measure a little over 10" of tread as they should (10.039" = 255mm). My wheel and tire do not stick out of the wheel well at all, look great and fit. I am positive et45 on a 9.0" wheel will not rub with 255's.

If anyone else is interested lets get these made...

Good question...

I'm at stock ride height, and even if I lower it will only be ~3/4" on KW street sports (highest setting). I do know that with the OEM suspension (which is soft) over BIG dips the wheels will go deep into the wheel well. I obviously do not know for sure, but I think it should still be OK. I say get on board and try with us!!!

Your ride will be absolutely awesome with these.

With only a 5 set run, Zoeb said that all will be one color. I was thinking silver would be the most appealing for most colors. They can do other colors, however it might be hard to find 5 buyers for another color...
