Auto transmission Oil Change 118i

Hi

Has any one done an Auto Transmission oil change on BMW 118i (2005).

Is there a procedure that I can follow, a link with pictures would be nice.

What sort of oil can we use?

How much Oil is required?

Any other suggestions.

Regards

Tim

Thinking of doing this soon for my baby. Lifetime oil my ass.

It should have your correct oil listed in the manual, under specifications.

Tim you should ask your dealer/parts dept.

I know when I looked into the trans oil specs for my 135i (I have a 6MT) the parts guy told me the auto uses 9L for the trans and another 2 or 3L for the torque convertor. The 135i uses a different A/T trans though.

I have no idea on the trans oil specs though. Maybe you can ask Red Line oils - they are pretty good about using the correct oil for our cars. My bet is thier D4-ATF or D6-ATF can be used. Btw... thier D4-ATF can be used in our 6MT trannies.

You can also look at RealOEM.com The Auto trans for teh 135i simply has a drain plug on the A/T valve body pan. You just unscrew the(hex/allen) drain plug. You fill the trans thru the dip stick tube with a funnel.
