Auto transmission Oil Change 118i
Hi
Has any one done an Auto Transmission oil change on BMW 118i (2005). Is there a procedure that I can follow, a link with pictures would be nice. What sort of oil can we use? How much Oil is required? Any other suggestions. Regards Tim |

Thinking of doing this soon for my baby. Lifetime oil my ass.
It should have your correct oil listed in the manual, under specifications. |

Tim you should ask your dealer/parts dept.
I know when I looked into the trans oil specs for my 135i (I have a 6MT) the parts guy told me the auto uses 9L for the trans and another 2 or 3L for the torque convertor. The 135i uses a different A/T trans though. I have no idea on the trans oil specs though. Maybe you can ask Red Line oils - they are pretty good about using the correct oil for our cars. My bet is thier D4-ATF or D6-ATF can be used. Btw... thier D4-ATF can be used in our 6MT trannies. You can also look at RealOEM.com The Auto trans for teh 135i simply has a drain plug on the A/T valve body pan. You just unscrew the(hex/allen) drain plug. You fill the trans thru the dip stick tube with a funnel. |
