Was planning on 7500 intervals as in my former car, but I'm hearing that the N55 can use a change sooner.

This question has been thrown around alot, but I swap mine every 7K. BMW OE 30, down the road i'm planning on trying motul. OCIs at anything less than 3-4K is literally wasting your money, unless you drive your car extraordinarily hard for extended periods of time. I'm pretty confident that full syn can hold up for BMW's recommended OCI, but mentally I just can't get to 15K oil changes.

I only drive my 135i on the weekends so I just go with every 6 months (Spring and Fall) regardless of how many miles I put on the car in that period of time. I only do maybe 3,000 to 4,500 miles every 6 months.

I change mine every 6K kms or four months. Which every comes first. Fresh oil is the BEST oil.

Was just at my Indy Bimmer shop last week. Had the antifreeze, rear diff, manual gearbox and PS fluids done. I'm at 63K now.
The shop guy told me to start changing my oil at 5,000 mile intervals, because of the turbos. I had been doing it every 7,500. |
