Don't think that time is terribly accurate :-)

Couple notes about the times... they are all official and typically all done (some exceptions *cough* GTR) in 100% stock form... tires/brakes/suspension etc.
I too was very surprised the 135 was slower than the 335 but remember the 'ring is a tight track in many parts & the 1 series has been reviewed to be not the tightest suspension for a track (stock) so it's just a general measurement for out of the box performance. As we all know just a few changes to the car can really tweak how it can perform. They are normally driven by professional drivers as well... |

Check out some of the comparo track tests 335/135/m3. Its pretty clear that time is off. 10+ seconds is an eternity. As for not having the tightest suspension, this is true, but it handles much better than a 335. Many of the suspension components are the same car to car, and those that aren't have been stiffened on the 1. Less weight, stiffer suspension, same power, smaller dimensions. Not much more needs to be said than that. Perhaps the time you listed was in the rain? What test is that from?

I mean, the 335i flops like a fish on the Ring - the 135i while still not a tightly buttoned-down marvel, should be measurably better than the 335i. It has been on every other track...
