Best place to buy HPFP?

Hey guys, where is the cheapest place to buy the latest revision of the HPFP? I was about to pull the trigger on a pump from getbmwparts (#13517616170) and then pay to have it forward shipped bringing the total cost to ~AUD$533.

Anyway, I think that is a pretty good price but I thought it would be best to check.

I think you are quoting US prices and not taken into account the poor exchange.

Are N54 HPFPs still failing even after the latest part number?

I was still on revision 2 and the one I just put in is the most up to date version (5). Apparently they still fail but maybe just not as often, I'm not 100% sure and am prepared to continue replacing this part whenever it breaks (cost me $445AUD to my door and it took me an hour to install).

Thanks mate, that looks like a pretty handy program haha

I ended up getting my pump from schmiedmann for about $270USD ($445AUD delivered), which is inline with the cheapest on your list.

Yeah, it really was and it only took maybe a bit over an hour to install.. It makes the whole HPFP failure thing a lot less daunting!

Did you get plenty of warning from the car that the HPFP was going? i.e slow crank? Or did your car have to be off the road while the pump was being shipped?

One of the things I find annoying about taking care of a european car is that the local prices are ridiculous. So if you have any acute problem that takes the car off the road you either have to pay through the nose or wait for shipping and take the bus instead.

Schmiedmann's customer service can be pretty lazy, but shipping time is very good, my last package took 3 working days!

Thats an excellent price, I bought mine directly from BMW for $700ish AUD

Do they also sell injectors, water pumps etc? never mind I'll take a look on their websit

I'm keen Steve, still doing diagnostics to ensure it is 100% injectors before making the change though

I got the 2FBF code and because I didn't want to get stuck on the side of the road, I just went ahead and replaced it. Arguably, I could have gotten another 2 months or so out of it.. I have heard that it is a very slow process and you get plenty of warning, but I didn't want to deal with that, especially because of the great price I got on the pump.

I think I just had a ragey moment that day and listed the car lol. However I am still keen to get my car fixed. Will need to determine that it's definitely the injectors first so still going through diagnosis process

Thanks Steve!!
