I'd definitely recommend drilling at least some of the extra holes. If you only use the factory mounting points then you only get a single line of attachment.
Any downward pressure on the front of the lip would then use that line of bolts like a hinge and probably snap either the lip or the bumper. A second line of bolts will remove the whole "hinge" thing - there will no longer be a pivot point. It's a bit of a pain but if you take it off afterwards you'd have to get under the car and look up to see the holes... Your choice but if you don't then don't blame anyone but yourself when it comes off... |

With attaching these lips there's a few methods... ALL require drilling holes in the premarked spots on the lip
1) undo bolts on bottom of bumper holding splash tray to bumper and secure lip there (like I believe harly has done) 2) screw lip into the bumper. yes you will be drilling into your bumper but you won't ever see it, your splash tray still gets to stay attached and I reckon it is more secure this way. I have done it like this and would recommend this method. |
