I am definitely going to the Montpelier Wine Festival (been going for the last 2 years) held on the grounds of Montpelier, just outside of Orange, VA. Sat or Sun May 6-7...(thinking of Sat)

Anyone interested in doing a meet around this? Its a great outing, lots of food and wine sampling and ample parking on the grounds...tickets are $12 in advance and $20 at the gate and $2 to park. Price includes general admission, a commemorative wine glass, tastings from each winery, and a chance to win a door prize.

Alcohol is definitely allowed <Please drink and drive responsibly>

I think its possible to section off parking especially for our meet, may have seen it before. Will check.

Good question ... its about 80 miles from where I am in Alexandria, VA...but its a nice drive (once you're off I-95, its gently windy country roads)...nice change from the hustle and bustle.

Free tasting all day...bottles are sold but you can get suitably plastered through the free tastings (a glass here, a glass there..it catches up to you ). Vendors push all sort of foods including crab cake sandwiches and fruit/cheese platters...Wife, friends and I always have a great time...

thd13: Looks good, haven't been to this one. Perhaps we can arrange for sectioned off parking, I'll try and shoot them an email...need to know min # of people. Also some of our members have expressed difficulties with the dates 05/20 and 05/21.

is there a significance for having the meet on 5/20-21 weekend? i'm opened to pushing it back or moving it up by one week if that would accommodate more people. thoughts?

I for one wont be able to do the weekends on either side of it. Plus, most people seem to be able to do this weekend...

No signficance actually...forgot who brought up those dates... I for one can't do 05/20 nor 05/13 (there is an Audi ride and drive event in Phila I signed up for )...

As I mentioned, dates are still wiiiideee open. C'mon guys, some recommendations, please.

What about the BMW CCA National Capital Chapter get together on April 29th in conjunction with Curry's Automotive Grand Opening in Reston, VA?

Some of the listed members expressed regrets for not being able to attend on the initial feeler dates. As such, we all need to reassess the timing of the meet, as well as the ongoing discussion on location and activities. Still looking into a number of things but in the meanwhile...ideally we would like to have everyone make it.
