Sport Package you get the sport seats with sport wheels. M package you get the logos, thicker wheel, M package front and rear bumpers, M package side skirts, and different M package wheels.

There was no "M sport" package in 2008... it was just called a "sport" package. The difference is minor, but one of the differences is the "M" logo on the door sills. I've seen the M sills for about $130-140 on eBay.

Ya you aren't missing much. The door seals and maybe some suspension an the steering wheel is the only diff between the original sport and msport package. Just another way for them to jack up the price lol. Sense you have a 135 the bumpers and side skirts don't change with m sport like in a 3 series. Only if you had a 128 them you would get 135 front and rear bumpers which are more aggressive.

In the USA - the M-Sport option was not offered until 2009 model year. In the rest of the world, it was offered in 2008.

On the 135 coupe, the sport option included the sport seats, the sport steering wheel and shadowline trim.

The M-Sport option added M-Door sills. M logo on the shift knob and steering wheel and an M dead pedal, along with the 261-M rims and anthracite headliner.

^^+1 to what Lester has said.

Here is an old post of mine explaining option #840 "increased speed limiter".
AND the two M sport options...

BMW M-sport option code 840 increased top speed limiter (speed synchronisation)…

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=top+speed+840

When ordering a new 2010 135i there are TWO sport options. (I think this was also the way it was for all model years: '08-'11's)

ZMP option code: $1,300 (Miltary Sales price) (can not be ordered with ZSP!) which includes

2MR 18" double spoke wheels #261M
337 M-sport pack, door strips in M, shifter & hand brake all M
481 Sport seats
710 M-sport steering wheel
760 Shadowline trim
775 Anthracite headliner (black)
840 Increased top speed limiter

the "other" sport option is this one: ZSP

ZSP Sport option $1,100 (mil price)

481 Sport seats
710 M-sport steering wheel
760 Shadowline trim
840 Increased top speed limiter

So... for a measly $200 you get the nice Anthracite headliner, M-double spoke wheels (same size as standard car though), M door sills and shifter/brake. I went with the ZMP on my car. I order my car thru Military Sales program. I think the US options were a $200 each more. ? I think the ZMP option is more rare from what I have seen over here. I had to special order my car the way I wanted it.

Good Luck,
Dackel

I think they are not that much money - check with a dealer or search for the part #s and look them up...about $50 from what I recall, maybe less.

I think the suspension and steering wheel is the same bro, the only difference is the door trim and color by sunroof.. Other than that it would be the same. Cause I have an automatic .. So the gear shifter is plan anyway..

I actually prefer the 264 wheels and the matching headliner. May consider getting the M pedals and door sills, but also don't want to be an "M wannabe". Also, from my understanding the suspension on both are the same.

I have the M Sports Package on my new 2012 128i automatic. It has the thick steering wheel, paddle shifters, bolstered fenders, 18 inch wheels, gray colored valance in the back and the M logos on the steering wheel, door sills and wheels. It looks and handles so awesome, I would not buy another 1 series without it. I have not even seen another 128i with the M package on the dealer lots or in the area since I bought it. The car gets more looks and compliments than any car I have ever owned.

That's not exactly correct. On a 2008 135, the sport package included the shadow line trim, increased speed limiter, sport seats, the thicker sport steering wheel w/ M logo, and a shift knob w/ M logo assuming you have a 6MT. The wheels were the same 5 spoke wheels that are on the non-sport package 135.

The M sport package added the following on top of the sport package that you have on your '08 135:

261M style wheels
M door sills
Dead pedal with M logo
Anthracite headliner

It still annoys me that the M sport package wasn't available on '08 models because I really would like to have the anthracite headliner.

I searched out a car with the MSport package for the anthracite headliner alone. I couldnt stand the beige A/B/C pillars while having a black leather interior. It looked so pieced-together.
