how? Its not a racingcar. Its an enthusiat's car.
And it just so happens that a lot of us enthusiasts feel that driving just isnt driving if you cant feel the speed of the car in the wind, or if you cant hear everything that the car is doing.

With the top down I can hear what every tire is doing, I can hear the wooshes, and sounds of the engine, and with an exhaust on the car the whole thing is just better.


These shops look great man, makes me really wish that the car was real.
I wanted a 1M vert for a long time, but alas, Scoot kept teasing us who liked the idea. He kept saying that if BMW sells enough coupes that they will then make verts.

Replace the VO by the blue color of the BMW logo, and the 1M would have been made available in all three colors of the BMW logo.

However, IMHO all 1M's would have been sold out too if BMW had made them available in merely the three colors of the ///M logo. That would have been quite original as statement by the ///M Division ...and warmly welcomed by all blue BMW cars aficionados (including myself). The colors of the ///M logo have a history and will remain, so which ///M enthusiast could not like it? And, generally, red and blue could not be too much of an issue: even the new 1er (F20) was/is presented worldwide in those colors.

I have owned a few verts in my time (S2000, 350Z) and get your point... that's why I have a motorcycle too. Verts can't handle, or if they can handle, they are too heavy, which then reduces handling.

Also by your definition it means that sports car != one without a roof, correct? It must be sad to exist in the tiny bubble of life and definitions that you appear to live in.

And no, in my experience the 1 vert and coupe are so similar in terms of performance that it all comes down to whomever is driving the cars.
so lets say that a 1 vert can do 95% of what the coupe can, ill take that 5% drop for the 100% gain in fun.


And yes, fun is what this car is about.
It was made because we in the enthusiast community asked for it in 2008 and BMW actually listened for once, and made it for what the enthusiast wants...quick and affordable fun.
