Need new headlights. What are my options?
Shorty story, I have moisture in my passenger side headlight assy. Xenon bulb (lo and hi beam) and adaptive headlights aren't working. BMW dealer said I need a new assy and its 1300 total (1100 + labor.)
So, since Im replacing one, I wanted to get the boards feedback on options out there. My requirements are xenon and adaptive system must be in the new lights. I like the Dectane depos in a thread in this section, but it appears they are not adaptive...is this correct? Tischer seems to have the OEM one with xenon and adaptive for 760 each. A lot cheaper than the 1100 quoted. What about the Euro OEM with the amber deletes. Can we get our hands on those here in the States? Are they similarly priced? *IF* I didn't go with the Adaptive headlights, would I get errors with my car? (assuming I replaced the pair.) And, of course, angel eye upgrades would be a plus. What all is out there that I may be missing? |

Contact member jori on this board. If he has any in stock, I think the European adaptive lights go for less than you were quoted from Tischer for the U.S. lights.

Sorry for the very late reply:
Actual, i haven't dynamics in stock, just statics (from the coupe with LED brow). If you just need ONE AHL light, you should post the exact number, so i might be able to hunt one down at ebay Germany. Sadly, there are a lot of versions of the lights, but it would be an option regarding the heavy price. Where is the moisture in your light. Just the ballast, or the whole light? Pics? |

Its in the whole light. Xenon bulb and adaptive motor no longer functions on the passenger side.
I know you dont have any adaptives in right now, but do you think you will have some in the future? If so, I'll just hang tight until you have a set. The light in question is from a 2008 135i. |

However, it should not be a big deal to repair your light. I have spare parts over here. Motor (you can change it easily), bulb (normally the bulb is not the problem) and the control unit (ballast). There are different ballasts out there. A big, old one, and the new small one. OLD: http://images.motoso.de/img2/fd1/9bd...rt1334099v.jpg NEW: http://www.magdatom-car.eu/image_fun...g&maxwidth=220 I could supply the new one. |
