Question N55 LSD Question?

If I have the DCT and I do burnout mode, will I leave two marks or one with a stock 135i? I have heard only one tire will spin and want to confirm this. Thank you.

Turn off DSC and get into TIMYOYO mode (press and hold DSC button until you get the orange warning on the dash) and try it again. If you really feel the need to.

Though it's easier to just take the car, put it on a lift in neutral and turn a rear wheel. If the other rear wheel turns in the same direction, you have a LSD. If not, you don't.

Will it spin both tires? This really is the thread of the year. Yes, both tires will spin. But i'm sorry, that doesn't mean you have an LSD.

If the weight is evenly spread both wheels will spin, but as soon as one loses traction.... Good bye traction.
This is where an lsd kicks in and would distribute power to whatever side is needed for maximum grip...

eLSD means different things to different makes. But the BMW DSC system applies rear brakes when it senses slip so if you want to call that an eLSD, sure. End of day, turn traction fully off and try doing this to see if you have a limited slip or not

Is there any easy way to do with the DCT? With a manual you can drop clutch easily for it. I know burnout mode and it does spin both tires but it's more of a rolling burnout than a true burnout that is sitting there smoking them.

DCT or not shouldn't matter when it comes to donuts

I haven't tried donuts in my E82 yet. I am guessing I will still be able to do without a true LSD just not as well or will that stop it from doing it after a while? I have only had my car for two months now so still learning everything on it.

You can not disable the eLSD.

What if you hold down and get DSC OFF to show up? Doesn't that fully disengage traction control? Not saying it's synonymous with eLS) but with traction fully off OP can test whether or not he truly has a limited slip.

you have some good proper helical diffs in the market for the DCT 2.56 final drive
but still no clutch types.

Quick press turns off traction control, press and hold turns off traction control and stability control. The ediff will still be active though.
