best bang for the buck suspenstion mod for daily driver?
Please help. I love my 2012 135i with M package but the suspension is waaaay too soft especially after changing tires to non- run flats. it's a leased car so I don't want to spend too much $$. I am considering the Eibach springs for $249 but wondering if anyone done just springs over the stock suspension and what the result has been?
what would you guys recommend as best bang for the buck to stiffen up the suspension for under $500 or so? |

this car is an expensive beast to modify; that being said, it's not recommended to replace springs without replacing struts also. Having a strut permanently compressed shortens the life of it. In a static drop with springs, struts, and an alignment you're over the $500 mark.
i do not know warranty information with a lease, if its different/more strict, but i would suspect that this would have to be dealer installed to maintain warranty for suspension. that alone would set your cost up there. Perhaps some anti-roll sway bars would better suit your budget? handling on corners would feel better, but nothing would be stiffened. |

Best thing you can do it upgrade the shocks...get some koni yellows. The 135's issue has always been its dampening. Not the springs.

You might consider the performance suspension kit. I had mine put in at the port prior to taking delivery, and I don't have much basis of comparison, but I like it. Also BMW may be OK to get a lease return with it installed?

IF your gonna change the springs... I would also change the shocks out too. THAT will do wonders for the way the car rides.

by changing to koni yellow, does this stiffen the ride a bit again ? would like a comfortable, smooth ride over potholes and road irregularities. Cornering is not a big big priority, this is something we don't do much but occasionally will encounter @ the mountain roads. Thanks. |

Well...get a bigger front sway bar.
I have one on my car thanks to the previous owner. I have driven cars without and I'm very grateful for it. And the next thing, shit if you can find it...i can't....strut tower brace, All that should be what guys? $500? |

The strut bar would be great, just use the m3 thing from HPA. And you can get the m3 front suspension bits from ECS for under 400 and that will stiffen up the front and give you some camber.
