OBDII, legal, and health issues aside, gutting the catalytic converters causes problems with the exhaust flow. You'll most likely lose power. The only correct (but still illegal) way to remove a cat is to replace it with a 'test pipe' that's the same diameter as the rest of the exhaust.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=golf+tee

Go to autozone and pick up vacuum pluggers...Dont know what they are called, but they are 2.99 here. Go under your car and there is an actuator with a vacuum hose on it. Plug the hose with a golf tee or equivalent and put the vacujm plugger on the actuator. This will open the muffler up more at idle, it will be louder at stop lights and low rpms, etc.

an even easier and cheaper solution is to buy a ballbearing or a BB for less that 15 cents plug the hose and plug it back in...

DEF post up some sounds. Please. I am stoked to hear it, and that 350z aggressive growl would be pretty damn nice.

BMW factory system

Just ordered a factory exhaust system, mentioned in BMW catalogs from United BMW of Gwinnett. The system is normally around $1000 and they sell it for $735 with free shipping. They indicate it is a slip on with no cutting or welding, I assume from the cat back. It appears that it is the same system for the 128 as the 135.
Will receive it next week and post info on installation, sound & noticible performance.

One of you guys PM me that are in So Cal to use for a test car and I'll put a system togeather for you. Maybe a mandrel section pipe so you can keep the OEM mufflers and get a deeper note...
