Should I sell?
I have a 2010 135 MDCT convertible with 40 000km. I need to replace all four tyres.
I have always had my eye on an M3 and now I have found a 2008 M3, alpine white, manual, m dynamic with 30 000km. The repayment on the M3 will be slightly more than my current car. I love the 135, but always wanted an M3. My concern is that the M3 is an older car, but the mileage is low and the dealer is extending the motor plan. Should I sell? |

Thanks for the reply.
I first drove the M3 Dct and I must say I was not impressed. The 135 has more pull in 1st and 2nd gears. However, the manual M3 just spoke to me! I am going to miss the turbo sound on the 135 though! |

Sounds like a bad idea. Keep the 1, and just get new tires. I found a very cheap tire that is VERY good made by general for my car. total for 19x7.5 square setup was like 820 installed. idk. don't bury your self in too many expensive things or you'll just end up like every other no name.

Thanks guys. The monthly repayment does not increase too much on the M3, so I am not too concerned about affordability.
Is the performance exhaust costly? That may be a good idea cos I am not crazy about the look of standard exhaust |

I had an M3 (2009) before my current 2012 135i MSport, DCT.
I would keep the 135i.

I'd keep the 1. Not sure if the M is also a convertible or if you care for it, but I'd think that would be a large factor in your decision as you obviously chose to have it in your 1 so...do you regret having it or will you miss it?

Exactly what he said. I feel the same way. Always wanted an e46m was jus never quite the right time. If its something u hav always wanted the feelings never gonna go away. So if ur n a position u can then do u may not b able to later. And u can always come back to a 1 if u want later. Bmws hold their value very well especially m cars so u should b able to sell it for a good price if u wanted later.

The M3's V8 is a masterpiece and preowned models are in the $40ks now in America, however I cannot imagine myself owning a car that thirsty.

The 135 is the same size as the E36 M3 and has more performance than the E46 M3. Way more torque and close to the same HP. Last edited by davefromfla; 10-26-2012 at 05:13 PM.. |

if your car has DCT then it is a 2011 not a 2010.
M3 is a great but at a high price. if you are getting extended warranty and you can afford it then go for it. Just make sure not expect a great car in town and at low speed and low rpm. but once you punch it the world will change and you will hear the all mighty V8 singing.

In the rest of the world, outside of the USA, it will be a 2010

unless you dropped a fortune into your older 1 series it wont hold a candle to the M3. m cars a special for so many reasons. I miss my e46 every day. But be prepared to visit the pumps more often and start saving for tires! ENJOY!
