This is awesome news!!! I'm surprised to find it hidden as a reply in a forum. I was actually considering selling my COBB because I have an AT (produces much less HP and Torque compared to an MT on the equivalent map), and I live in Cali. That means the performance gains were minimal, considering the price of the COBB.

This has renewed my faith in the COBB. Can't wait to try out the Sport maps. BTW, you may want to update the release notes to reflect this info. They say that the Drive maps should be used when running 91 ACN, with no mention that the Sport maps are also OK.

From the map notes PDF here: http://cobbtuning.com/info/?id=5894

Stage1 - Aggressive: +30%HP/+38% lb-ft over stock
Stage1 - Sport: +26%HP/+33% lb-ft over stock
Stage1 AT - Aggressive: +24HP%/+35% lb-ft over stock
Stage1 AT - Sport: +20%HP/+35% lb-ft over stock

So I'd imagine Sport = 91oct and Aggressive = 93oct.
I'm curious why there are less gains for the automatic. The BMW Performance Power kit actually pushes less tq to the manual tranny (And keeps the hp the same). I know COBB is making a lot more power than the BMW PPK, but even so, you would surmise that the ratio's might stay the same. I know that the driveline efficiency is less with a slushbox, but since we're talking deltas here, that is already accounted for.

Running the new sport map since I haven't gotten 93 octane and loving it. Much smoother power and throttle profile in my opinion. Love my AP

I can't seem to read the map notes either on my Mac (all map notes have been this way, I think it may be an unsupported font?). Works just fine when I use my work PC though.

+1, update the map notes. Last revision was in July for the 203 maps. I would expect the map notes to be updated at the same time as the map release.

^ I'm also able to view them on my PC, I was at a friends place and all they had was MAC's, my Xoom was also unable to open their PDF.

I have updated the initial post with a new graphic comparing the new throttle mapping as a sort of visual reference for what the latest throttle maps do. New map notes can be found Here. We hope to have those available soon.

Travis, thanks for providing us with a visual on the throttle maps. I tried the linear, but for my driving style I really prefer the stock map. The linear just felt a little too tame for me. Looking at the maps, I think that part of the reason is that the linear map doesn't give you max throttle until you have the pedal fully depressed, where the other maps give you max throttle at around 90% depressed.

It would be interesting to have a map with the linear curve (I know those terms contradict each other, but that's what it looks like on the graph), but have it ramp up a little steeper, so that full throttle is at 90% pedal depression. Then you would not only get the low end grunt from the slight curve, but also the linear feel with a little more responsiveness than the current map. Anyway, thanks again. Keep up the great updates!

Just read the new notes, and I'm seeing some conflicting info on the ACN fuel.

Earlier in this thread, "Sport" was fine for ACN, but now on these new notes, ACN is specifically referenced in the "Drive" maps.

I guess the bottom line is, can Sport be safely run on ACN91 or not?

Can anyone tell me how do I know which v301 map to download? How do I know which ECU out of all the available ones on the download page?

When you first install the cobb it will tell you which ECU version you have. the v301 map to download it up to your driving style and the available premium fuel you have 91 v 93.

That's all four maps. These are the transfer function of your foot to actual plate position (though I suspect there is still some BS going on inside the ECU to adjust from there).

Basically v1 an v2 are the slowest, "linear" is the fastest, stock is fast at low rpm and slower at high RPM.

The shape of the stock map kinda counteracts the slower turbo spool at lower RPM. The V2 has a touch of that as well.

Can anyone from experience or from Cobb chime in about running the aggressive map on an auto transmission at high altitude with 93 octane and no other mods.

Linear + Sport on 91 ACN chiming in
AMAZING! The clutch feels much smoother in shifts, the car responds much better to WOT without the jerkiness as before.
Thank you Cobb!

The car should be able to compensate for elevation. What are we calling "high" elevation? Will the car be operating solely at this elevation? Your best bet is always to do a datalog and see if the elevation has an adverse effect on the tune of the car.

Just a quick update: IJE0S Stage0 and Valet maps should be downloadable now. I apologize for the inconvenience. If any more broken links are found, please post here or send us a PM and we will get those fixed right away.
