Ive beaten a few M3s (Both E46 and E92) at autox. Im not sure if simply that I have a much useable powerband or if im simply a better driver.
I want to say the second one |

Yea... well... I raced an e92 (V8) M3 two weeks ago on the autobahn. But I realy wasn't sure IF he was realy going for it or not? We were racing on a straight autobahn for like three klicks @155mph... but then he got off t for these sweeping turns while I stayed on the gas. I think I really scared the piss out of him.
I was just wondering what everyone else thought of a 135i vs M3 at speed. Btw... that very same day earlier I came across a Weismann (powered by the old e46 M3 motor)... now with racing that guy I had a clear advantage over him. :P And.... boy was he not taking his lumps well!!!! I really love my little 135i!!! |

I've raced both E46 M3 and an E92 M3 from a dig and on a roll. Don't know if it's appropriate to comment on the results here as it may breach the forum rules.

This will not breach the rules: At HPDE's (driving schools) my 135i (with Dinan Stuff) easily outpaces the E90 M3's on the track. My car is quicker through the corners and pulls stronger on the straights. Granted, I had to spend money on aftermarket parts and even put the M3 bushings and controll arms on to get to this point, but there is no doubt that a reasonably modified 135 is absolutely faster than an M3 on a track.

I also eat them up stoplight to stoplight If I was in your car Matt, they would have all been COMPLETELY destroyed!

I went from a 10mph roll against a e46 m3. I had myself and two others in the car, and the m3 had just the driver. By the middle of fourth I had atleast 3 car lengths on him!! on a race track of course
This car is just geared so well that by the time he shifted twice I had only shifted once. It is the same as when I ran my buddies supercharged e36 m3.. The claim is that it makes 360whp and when we ran up to 150mph we were side by side the enitre time!! Im bone stock btw! |

I've had two M3s (46 and 92) back out.
Im bone stock, so I dont really know why they so scurred =P I can tell you for sure that a 135i is faster than a Camaro SS =X (Idk if it was stick or auto, I thought he was auto but maybe not?) The truth is that stock for stock an M3 should walk away from a 135i on a track and be very slightly faster in a straight line. But with a $400 JB3 the 135i will walk away from an M3 down the strip and probably beat him around the turns too. Add a couple suspension bits and... well... see Rogues vid. |

Thanks. The brakes and the higher power in the lower rev range is what I think made it seem so effortless. I thought it was great that the only mod that I had was the first rendition of the JB3. Stock runflats at the end of thier life and the soft suspension as well. I can't wait until I get some track upgrades for her!

Just awesome driving. It goes to show that the driver will always beat a more expensive car. It was obvious that most of the M3 drivers didn't feel comfortable driving at the limits. Too much trail braking on that one silver M3 driver. It does get you really excited to see a properly tuned M car made out of a 1'er!
