Plasti Dip my kidneys slats?

So i tried something i havent really seen / couldnt find anywhere.

I just sprayed the vertical slats and left the surround chrome.

I ended up doing 3 coats of the black plasti dip and 1 gloss plasti dip coat. I didnt really wait the recommended time in between coats, so who knows what effect that will have but it was like 20$ so im not too concerned.

It was too dark when i put them in tonight so more pics tomorrow!

serious guard dog incase anyone tried to steal my screw drivers when i went inside!

forgive the dirty car and my blood from trying to get the kidneys to the left of them.

finish looks good with the gloss layer on the top, better than just straight matte black.

I wouldnt mind actually trying it out the other way around, Black outter with chrome down peices... that would look interesting i think.

Yeah they come apart from each other really easy the fins and the surround. so its easy to coat one thing and not the other.

Yep, those last pics work. It looks good and your handiwork seems to be of decent quality. However I personally prefer full black grills. Also the other combo you mentioned (chrome slats/black outside) looks like s#it. Either keep it as is or make the rest of the grills black too like the slats.

looks good mate...
i wouldn't ,but if your keen, go for it. after all , you can can peel off pretty easy afterwards.
as long as your aware it wont last very long as it marks pretty easy (its not the most durable finish)

ahhh yes, forgot about that. I changed mine to all black and for some reason remember it just being the outside surround that was chrome.
