Bavarian Technics cable

Hey all,

i realise this is (i think) my first post, but i'm hoping there is some kind person out there that has a bavarian technics cable available to do a backend flash.

I just installed my jb4 yesterday and im loving it, but i'd like to pair it with the back end flash.

If anyone has one available that would be willing the rent/sell it out to me to do the flash, i'd be most appreciative.

Ended up biting the bullet and bought one a few weeks back. If anyone wants to flash theirs, i'd be happy to rent it out

i'm in Canberra. If you wanted to rent it, i've seen people do similar in the states using paypal deposits etc.

I was getting 29E2 and 29F2 codes when doing 4th gear pulls. Since flashing backend pump flash this hasn't re-occurred.

Just flashed the race flash this evening due to running higher levels of E85. will see how that goes over the coming days.

Can I ask about the difference between the BT cable (approx $300) and other OBD2 cables that are maybe $100. I understand both are able to flash and delete all codes etc. what extra does the BT cable provide?

I am about to order this cable ($100) to perform the Alpina B3 transmission flash & coding. What can't it do that the BT can?

The BT Cable allows you to flash the DME with Open source flash tunes. You cannot do this with a standard D-CAN cable.

The DME flashes can be built to be used with the JB4 or as a standalone flash - essentially doing the same thing as a COBB AP, but for far less.

If all you want to do is coding of modules ala Alpina trans flash, the D-CAN cable with winkfp, inpa etc will be sufficient. If you are wanting to flash the DME with a tune, you must have the BT cable.

Ok thanks for the clarification. I'm running a Cobb so no need to do any backend flash tunes with JB4. The Alpina flash on the other hand does interest me
