Hi Guys,
Quite a few poeple have ask me about hwere I stayed when I went to the Gross Glockner. Really you can not find a bad hotel down in that area. I drove to Gmund from my haus in Bamberg. BA to Munich is a two hour drive. Munich to Gmund is under three hours away. I stayed in a small village near Gmund called: Rennweg or 9863 Rennweg am Katschberg in Österreich (Austria) The hotel was an (old) Alt Post Hotel. I think these old Post hotels go back to the days of the pony express and stage coach days - when the mail and people traveled that way. lol Anyway... I hope this might help someone plan their ED trip. Dackel |

Just a friendly bump for my old post.
I'm looking for ideas of some new mountain pass roads to go tour. Any suggestions guys and gals>? I seem to remember some Pass's North of the Glockner, towards the Swiss border. ? Dack |

This past summer I spent 2 months exploring the alps on my motorcycle. My bike is stored in Heidelberg and I plan to return in 2012. 2013, 2014, ...... I've got a 1er on order and gave some thought to ED but would rather explore Europe on my motorcycle. My 128 Coupe(AW over Coral/M-sport/premium/convenience) has finished build and is in transit to the port. Regards, Paul |

Just wanted to remind anyone IF you try to visit this area during the winter months(Oct thru April) you will need to bring snow chains.
