Where did you put the 3M tape on the spoiler? Did it fit perfectly or did you get any small "space"? Not tape seen? Any learnings or do / do not?

I plan to fit the same on my car now in the weekend. Using 3M PT1100 tape.

Many thanks!

I used the beta link on my babies and no issues. The spatula that comes with the betalik cleans up the residual gunk and it's solid for life.

FWIW, betalink is pretty much a permanent solution, that spoiler ain't coming off in one piece (or if it does, your trunk will need work). Probably not a big deal for most, but if you ever envision yourself taking it off eventually (to repaint trunk, or replace with a CF trunk, or sell, or replace with another type, or whatever reason), 3M double sided automotive tape is better IMO.

If theft if your concern, bottom line is if someone has decided to steal it and take it off, Betalink won't stop them. It'll just leave you worse off to clean up after the mess (where chances are you need both a spoiler and a trunk ).

Now I have installed the Performance spoiler. It was pretty easy to remove the original spoiler. Used the 3M PT1100 tape to install it. Seems it fit really well but will give final judgement after used the car for some time including washing and driving it hard.

You missed the post by Satalite on page three, "Teaser" that posts a performance fiber spoiler by IND, (OEM) with matching color pinstripe. Pics are posted. No need at all for the hold down tape, the 3M 1MM stong bond tape binds almost instantly. See pics...

I did see it but there is nothing to loose to also use tape and press it down. The other reason is that its cold outside and I need to let it bond well in the garage (24h) before driving it. Just to be sure... ;-)

DIY cf spoiler success

I used 3M auto tape, let it sit for an hour and it has now been flawlessly installed for 2 months. Including some severe weather, being from New England.

Do you have any pictures of how you laid the 3m tape on the spoiler? How you did the corners, etc

Just got mine today...sitting in the garage. I will prep it up with double-sided tape and perform the removal of the OEM spoiler and installation of the new one either tomorrow or Friday!

put mine on last weekend. pretty easy...to me hardest part was removing the goo left by the old spoiler and of all things pulling the backing off the dbl sided tape LOL ...the water/soap tip works pretty good and makes placement much easier. thanks for whoever suggested it...

these really add a lot to the look of our cars. they should have came from the factory that way in my opinion

Question is, what do you do with the stock lip. Roof spoiler anyone?

I used 3M automotive tape as well and it worked pefectly. I won't use Betalink. I see it used at my dealer and I just don't think it will come off easy if I decide to take off my spoiler.

Never use betalink!

it pulls the paint right off the car what a horrible idea.

I've never seen it pull off the paint but I would definitely never use it.

I used 3m VHB tape and made sure it covers every single area that would be in contact with the boot surface, so cut out strips and sizes to do the job and have had no movement after many washes and drives....Wouldn't touch betalink goo, makes a bloody mess, its like tar lol and for me the oem spoiler came off so easy and left no goo residue so it was a very quick off and on job to do......
