Plate Holder Paint Damage!!!!
I just gave the car its first wash and when I got to the rear I see this....the dealer put a cheezy $5 plate holder on and its hitting the paint. I have about 6 spots where its worn down to the bare metal.
I know its not horrible but wth...its brand new and I dont remember asking for that stupid plate holder.

I don't know how anyone can give these dealers free advertising. Dealers should pay us monthly fees to drive around with their stupid badges. When I see nice cars with dealer badges or plate holders I think the car owner doesn't respect their car as much as they should. I did all the work to afford the car why would I let you slap your name on my car.

Insist that they fix it! That's what I would do. Or at leat have them give you a credit so you can purchase something from the accessory/parts department.

I had a similar issue (previous owner had on an ///M plate holder that started to fade). Resolved by getting one of BMW's nice plate-holders with the screw caps, in black of course to match the car. The scratches are still there, but not visable unless I take my plate holder off.
I would raise hell and insist they fix and give you one of the BMW Plate holders for the inconvenience.

Same thing happened to my car on the rear, drives me crazy every time I see it. But, on the bright side you do have to get really close to the plate to see it.

Jeez the dealership should definitely fix that. I took my dealership plate off as soon as I got the car and put in a very thing black frame. get that or just no frame.
BTW, I'm also in Hershey. Guessing you bought yours in Lancaster? |

It's not just the dealer plate frames that do it. Just about any that are not tightly attached will rub against the finish. And the ones I've seen only have the 2 top screws on the plate for attachement.
Think it's something you will have to live with if you want a plate frame. |
