2009 135i HPFP update
Greetings Addicts! Some updates on the HPFP fuckup ('09 135i Coupe) -
> I just got my 2nd replacement at VOB BMW (Rockville, MD), and they put in Part# 13-51-7-594-943; apparently this is the "latest and updatest" version and they just got the first shipment of the new batch yesterday (after Snowmageddon) > I was also told that warranty on all '09 HPFPs (or High Pressure Injection Pump, internally known to BMW as HDP) has been extended to 100,000 miles. Unlike '08 owners, the '09 owners did not receive any individual notifications of the extended warranty (yet); my SA just handed me a printout showing extended warranty info when I asked him to check, after plugging my Comfort Access unit into his console - sounds like this "courtesy" info is on a need-to-know basis only. Please make sure you ask for this HPFP Part# (at least) should you need a replacement this year; all the best; Cheers! -S |

Haha (that the warranty has been extended to the '09s)
Sorry you've had to have two of them replaced. I had one done in my '08 at 3k miles... but its not at the latest and greatest. *shrug* |

My car acted fairly normal except for the 3-5 sec cold start cranks. After a few weeks of long cranks and one that happened latter on the day, I decided to get it checked. Just replaced last week. Car does seem that it has more power now, but that could just be me thinking it is something new.

Just to be clear, it doesn't sound like there's been a report of a 943 pump failing.
