2008 135i with low miles.

Hello, I am newbie here. Also posted same post on another forum. I will delete the post if it is a problem.

I currently own X5 4.8i using it as family car and want to buy another commute car for myself.

The car I am looking at is 2008 135i 6-speed manual coupe with sport, premium package (I think that was everything in back 2008). No nav, I don't need it actually. The car has little less than 19000miles. It was local trade in car which was taken care in BMW dealer all the time. HPFI was replaced around 13k miles. They are out for little less than $23k from local BMW dealer.

Do you guys think it is a good deal? Anything I need to worry about or check before I purchase it?

Any inputs are appreciated. Thanks in advance

I bought mine a few months ago for about 18500 with 40,000 miles on it just for reference. It was a private seller though.

Thanks for the input. It is hard to find 135i with clean history for less than 25000...

It's local trade in to dealer and has perfect history. They wouldn't give me any discount.
I got it down to 22750. but no more.. Thing is I can get certified 128i with 25k.
do you think it is worth it to go with 135?

Thanks for the input

FWIW mine has a perfect history too. I can understand wanting to buy from a dealer though. Definitely get a 135.

I financed too, it wasn't too bad. If you're willing to travel for the right car it really opens up your options.

Okay.. I will think about it.. This car has great service record.

7500 miles brake fluid, finter and engine oil.
10865 miles Low mileage annual oil service,
High pressure pump B13 13 10
Injectors, B13 14 10
Programming HDP, B13 09 10
Belt Pre-tensioner B72 02 10
17080 miles Battery cable

for sale in 18300miles

I am also thinking about buying 3rd party warranty(Compass protection plan) that dealer recommanded.

What do you guys think?

It's from dealer. Our town is not that big, so whatever dealer say is the price.. almost no negotiation... I decided let it go. I will keep search for another good one with color I want.

Thanks all for the inputs.

Just did an Autotrader search. 2010 m sport manual, leather, power seats etc asking prices are 22k and up including private sellers. There's one with leatherette and manual seats near me and asking from that dealer is $23.8k. I showed them the one I eventually got and they said there was no way they would hit that price. Granted they've been sitting on it for a little while but doubt they are mispriced by more than $4k.

FWIW I got mine in a smallish town and they were willing to negotiate. Might be worth another crack if you're dealer hasn't moved it in a couple months.

Good luck with your search!

Price is a smidgen high IMO. At 21ish I'd be a buyer.

FWIW I just picked up a 2011 135i DCT with 68k miles for 19k. I'm the third owner (was a lease, sold as a CPO car and then owned for about a year. Second owner put a ton of highway miles on it) Came with full book of records, no accidents, and the balance of the CPO warranty. There are deals to be had.

I got my 2011 Msport w/33k for ~26k had a bumper to bumper aftermarket warranty till 60K or 2019 ( that transferred to me). Came with a Cobb APv3 and Dinan exhaust (dealer installed) FYI. I flew to Cali and drove it back, financed through my credit union super easy process to get the out of state financing done.

Check out this video: helps with used car pre-purchases. I wish I did this before I bought mine. I could have gotten mine for a cheaper price. I would definitely take it to a mechanic before purchase.

I purchased a one owner 2008 135i 1 yr ago from a private party. It had 13,000 miles, and the service history was similar to the one you're looking at. Price was about the same. It was in perfect condition, always garaged, and never flogged The owner was a stand up, mature adult. The car was exactly what I was looking for (model, options, color, condition, milage, service hx). For me price became secondary because it was the car I wanted. We quickly agreed on a price … everybody happy. I'm still happy. Final thought: a PPI is always a good idea, however on this car - I just thought "f it". Wrote the check and drove it home - no regrets.
