I don't remember which set of lux I have, I know it's older but I was quite happy with the results. Matching the eyebrow should have been the oem look to start with.
I do remember that I underestimated how annoying they would be to install lol.

EldRick, there is a the H8 Amber lights too. Which is a amber LED rather than a halogen bulb. You can see some pictures here http://ftbrgarage.com/collections/lu...89-e90-e92-e93

Yep I do! Although expensive, enough to consider OP's solution.
But after some research I decided to solve this (=To-Do) simpler and cheaper: buy some cheap ~20$/pc 6k-Kelvin LED H8's (without the waist full and difficult to position resistor just to avoid error messages) that have 2 LEDs aligned in the correct 90 degree position: insert, then code out the hot and cold error checking for stand lights. Once I get to it, I'll post the DIY. |

Aren't the BMW upgrade halogen lamps available for you guys?
http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/su...ryId=9942.html I looked at the various LED H8 versions available but really it's the light unit itself that's the limiter. You'll never get the same output from this unit as the newer headlamps with their upgraded technology so I've settled on just making the rings match the LED brow a little better. |

I fitted the Phillips H8 Diamond Vision versions before these became available from BMW, and they've been fine. A great improvement on OEM and no worries or errors as they're the same rating as OEM. I've not tried the BMW version but they do look remarkably similar... As per my post above I'm not sure if they're available in the US, but I believe the part number is: BMW Blue halogen bulbs (H8) 63 11 2 359 505 |

Not the best but a sample pic of the Phillips Diamond Vision H8's as requested. I can only presume the BMW version will be very similar. Additionally I also changed the indicators to a 'diadem' version of the same bulb to get rid of the 'fried egg' look. You can get the silvatec version that is silver but I already had these from my last car and quite like the slight blue tinge to them. |

I changed my mind about the OEM ring bulbs with my VO - it occurred to me that the orangey rings look a lot like a poor electrical connection to the lights, and now I can't get that thought out of my head.
So I ordered a set of the BMW Blue H8s for $48 plus shipping. |

I'm interested to see what the BMW versions look like, although I wouldn't be surprised if they're just re-branded versions of what we've fitted. |

The BMW H8 blue bulbs showed up today. Not installed yet, but I took a look at them and they are made by Osram, Philips' main German competitor.
I'm looking forward to getting rid of the orangel eyes look... Last edited by EldRick; 11-29-2015 at 10:37 AM.. |
