"Increased battery discharge!"

Last night and this morning when i started my car which struggled pretty bad to start, the dash was full of error messages and warnings. After a few moments they all disappeared with the exception of the images of a car up on a lift, a car, and a warning triangle. Went into iDrive and saw the error "Increased battery discharge!", the details read the following "Battery discharge while stopped. Turn off unnecessary electrical consumers. Reset date and time if required. In case of repeat occurrence, have the system checked by your BMW center." All systems have been off and the vehicle was locked.
Here in Connecticut we have had some very cold weather recently (negative degrees not factoring in wind chill) and my vehicle has been parked in my buildings underground garage. Could this be due to extreme cold or should i be concerned more about another issue? Normally i would just throw the car on a trickle charger but seeing as there are no plugs in the garage this is not possible.

Sounds like the car detected some form of draw on the battery. Has the error represented itself?

Yeah the past two times I have started the car which has included about 100 miles of driving. If it does the same this afternoon in going to make an appointment. Don't want to get stranded anywhere.
