My money on the extension harness. I imagine this RHD harness is not something they have alot of volume out there using, so probably not as proven.

It's strange because you haven't thrown any codes so it's hard to diagnose.

I'd try doing these things.

Install and reinstall.

Log some runs, check for codes. Send logs to Terry.

Make sure Auto-clear for codes is off, that might be why you can't see any codes.

Maybe look into changing plugs as it's relatively inexpensive and see if the misfires keep occurring. I doubt it's the problem though.

True... I was the first to buy one... I had to push to get it made...

Although it is just a bunch of long wires.... It shouldn't be THAT hard to make properly...

I still throw codes... I just didn't get any when I had the CEL/Limp Mode...

I know this would be the smart thing to do... It's just such a pain in the arse to install the N55 one... It's not just a few ribbon cable in the ECU box... I haven't really used the JB Software so not an expert on doing logs... Sure I can figure it out though...

Also, I just don't trust it... I actually feel less stressed about life in general with it off my car...

We'll see I guess....

I feel your pain Angus - there was a period where my car was also filled with little gremlins and issues (codes, misfires and limp mode everywhere).

Actually got to the point where I was thinking about selling it!

I pushed through talk to a lot of people, replaced a few consumables (spark plugs, vanos solenoids and coilpacks) and even changing tune (disclaimer it wasn't the tune fault but I had to rule it out!).

Now is perfect and well worth the drama!

Long story short - maybe you should try again as the extra power is definitely worth it!

Though I would be worried with the traction control playing up!

You would be surprised what lengthening with perfectly good wire can do for noise on sensitive signals. The may not be a fault as such... but you may have increased the sensitivity to electrical noise and other factors that extending a cable can do.

That's true Adrian but I would have thought they'd test that before releasing the product. You don't actually need a RHD car to use the Harness - you'd just have 3 feet of extra cable...

I think it's important to remove and reinstall to completely rule out human error. That's one of the downsides of piggybacks, not as easy as a simple reflash like Cobb that takes a few minutes.

Where the cable is routed can make difference to this also. I doubt they could replicate your setup with a LHD car, as some things you may route your cable near may not be in the same place on LHD car.

For the Procede I had some local test cars that I did all testing of RHD N55 harnesses. We went through a couple of harness revisions to get to the one we now sell.

Having said that, I much prefer to sell an N54 Procede than N55. Because of the different harness there is much higher potential for incorrect installation, or damage to a harness during installation. And even if you get it right, if you have the old DME firmware, you might get occasional limp/codes. It is rare to get an N54 Procede issue. That is not to say we don't get issues, but normally not sourced to N54 Procede. HPFP issues often surface the first time you turn the wick up on performance as they do with any tune.

Agree wholeheartedly Vinney.. I have done that already a couple of times but not done any logging so far... Problem is - it only plays up sometimes... I might have to log for days before any faults occur...

Yeah.. This is why I'm feeling like a Flash Tune might be the answer... Not having direct access to the ECU in the N55 is a bitch.
