Me getting Lasik done.

Went from blind as a bat to OMFG I can see everything for ever ... seriously. I can see pretty clearly things at least 4 miles away, water tower. And I can almost make out the individual radio antenna on top of it.
I wore glasses for over 32 years.

That is awesome!

I have been wanting to do that too. My wife had it 17 years ago. She used to wear coke bottle glasses.

Added a trunk liner today, BMW brand. It fits nice, and should keep stuff away from the electronics under the deck.

I also received Novus polish to polish the anti-glare off my GPS screen, plus a screen protector for it.

My "simming" is mostly limited to X-Plane 10/11.

I do play Gran Turismo Sport, but enjoy Project Cars 1 more (more realistic driving dynamics). I've gotten really good at driving with thumbsticks...

Spent last week on my Craigslist Hartge spoiler project.
Originally in "tired black" it was definitely in a used condition, but without any cracks or major defects.
The spoiler was sanded, primed and painted with two coats of basecoat and three coats of clearer.
Came out pretty decent - color match is alright, better than expected actually.
Slight mottling of the metal flake visible in spots, but nothing major.
All in all, not bad for a spray can garage DIY.
Will wait for warmer weather before applying 3M tape and attaching it permanently.
Here are a couple of quick test-fit pictures:

That looks really nice! Very professional looking, at least from the photos. The Hartge spoiler is the one of the nicest looking spoilers for the 1er imo. Love the matching color as well.

BTW, did you ever do the PE? Maybe you already posted about it and I didn't notice.

Not 1er related. But new tires for the X5

Maybe someday I'll get something this wide on the 1er.

Thank you Esteban!
My PE is still in its box waiting for spring. One more month and the car will be back on the road - and the exhaust gets installed first!

That looks great! Spray can paint on this kind of project, with good paint, can come out great!

I did a similar project on my wife's Spyder panniers.

Colorite has professional quality paint and clear that really cover great!

Hand washed my car for the first time since i picked her up.

Was sad to see a shitload of swirl marks, scratches, water spots and some marring.

Car really needs to be both chemically and physically decontaminated, i can actually feel how rough the paint was while drying her off.

Waiting till Tuesday to get an iron out decontamination bottle, then check the weather and lets see what i can do by hand. Clearly the car was never clayed, waxed or properly washed since new, so i got a challenge on my hands.

Best of luck but it will be a brand new car after the battle!

About a month and change till I take my 1er out from the garage.
Also, I have some exciting news, I will be signing to build my first home with my fiancé this week.
Even more exciting is that I can finally build my dream garage over time. Lighting, painting, racks for detailing equipment, tool boxes and much more!

Better that than someone who compounded most of the clearcoat off! I'm sure it will look amazing when you're done, if there's no deep damage. Good luck. I feel your pain. My last 1er had water spots so deep I was afraid to go deep enough to get them all the way out. I was seriously considering wet sanding the things down, but I don't have a paint thickness meter, so I lived with it. It will be time well spent correcting that paint.

Looked long and hard at it after spending the afternoon studying the 2019 models on the BMW and other motor review sites.

I decided that this 2012 128i was everything I wanted after all.

I have a Tahoe and a RAM for other duty. The 128i will remain my daily...

That was exactly my line of thinking when I recently purchased my 2011 128i Cab.
