How do these compare to the WeatherTech mats when it comes to winter and keeping all the water from draining onto your carpet floor?

I've only had the car for a month but the weathertech have higher sides to hold in water. The passenger front oem protects the carpet higher against the engine compartment though. I bought the weathertech as I didn't want black mats on a taupe interior.

Hmm, I need a proper winter set but I'd really like to protect both because I imagine it could get pretty wet on the driver's side near where the pedals are

When I said the OEM mats protect the front better, I meant only the passenger side as it goes higher than the Weathertech. On the driver's side, it's height is the same but the Weathertech hold the water in with higher sides on both passenger's and driver's mats.
