Not sure now !
Hey guys I need some help,
as some of you know I haven't get my e90 yet, but I have a problem I'm not sure if I would get the 325i, I got a really good price for a brand new 06 GTO, and the people on the pontiac dealer were really friendly and helpfull. Howevr monday I'm going to another BMW dealer b/c Lauderdale Imports BMW theat me like shit, like I was a joke or something. Now let's be honest I'm only 19, I not sure if the 325i is for somebody of my age. I don't want people to think "look he is driving dad car" or something like that. What do you guys think? should I go for the Bimmer or the GTO? maybe I just saying this b/c I got a really bad first impression with Lauderdale Imports |

it's a toss up between raw power and refined power. GTO is a pretty sweet car, and if I was 19, I would go for the GTO, but now that I'm older, I want something more refined/sophisticated, hence my choice of the 330i. The Amercian muscle cars are cheap and fast, but you'll fly off a clif if you try to corner, but then again, will you take your car to the twisties often?
My two pennies: I wouldn't mind going for the GTO if I were you, but I would get the 325.

check insurance on both of those bitches before you go too much further
also keep in mind although the cars cost about the same new, the GTO's resale will be much poorer. The 3 will handle better, the GTO will be much faster. no reason at all to buy a car from a salesperson or dealership that treats you poorly, maybe try a different salesperson |

My dad has a GTO and it's really powerful but as far as quality...ehhhhh.
He's had it for two years and so far the headliner fell off, the plastic piece under the glove fell off, the stitching on all of the rear seats is coming undone, etc. The service was horrible at the Pontiac dealer. He wanted to get new seats and they said no but that they would reupholster them locally. It's a really long story but they ended up being very cheap about it and he finally gave up on them and just left the seats alone. They sent him an invoice with nasty comments simply because he didn't want them to touch his car. Let's just say, the GTO is a nice car if you don't care about luxury or quality in a car and just care about going fast. Also be ready to have horrible service in Florida because non-luxury dealers are like circuses here. I hear the luxury dealers are only a notch better.

Look the E90 and the GTO are different cars. If its straightline acceleration that ur looking for there arent many cars for the price range that will give it a run for its money, the 325i being one of them
as for people thinking that your driving your dads car, ive got a 7series and i get that ALL THE TIME, most times i have to show girls my registration before they believe its mine. However, i dont get that with the A4 (basically the same class of car), so i think your fine on that tip but to be honest, as a 2nd car, the GTO would be great, but as an only car i would seriously not recommend it. The E90 IMHO is the better looking/riding/built, and for daily performance the better car. if you are ordering, why not wait for confirmation of the new 328i? its gonna have 230hp with a 0-60 time in the low 6s. that will give you about 90% of the GTOs performance (the other 10% would be the sub-6s that the GTO runs) Personally, theres no contest between an E90 or GTO for me, E90 all the way man!!!!!!!!!!! NOW GO GET ONE |

Isn't the GTO being discontinued sometime soon? I remember watching something on TV about the Detroit Auto Show and they mentioned how GM has decided to discontinue the GTO after 2006 or 2007 (not too sure about this particular part). Correct me if I'm wrong.

hemi to e90, actually the GTO does 0-60 in about 4.8....which is substantial given the estimated 328's lower 6's. Calvino, like Ward said, make sure that you check insurance on both before buying! I would go w/ the 325, but if you were looking into the pontiac, I'd buy a used 2006 w/ a few thousand miles and save yourself probably 25% off the sticker price!

ohh I did not realise that Kanishk I found this in google “There are some changes in the federal regulatory standards. One is an airbag deployment standard that would require some very expensive re-engineering of the car,” says Jim Hopson, Pontiac spokesman. “Since the architecture of this car is being phased out around the world it’s not economically feasible to continue this car.” |

The photo of that future GTO looks like a cross between a Mitsubishi Galant, 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor and Mustang. The current one looks better imo. |

haha about the age thing. don't think that way... just think people are like... "#@$^! a kid driving a nice car." I mean sure some people might think your spoiled but in the end, who has the nicer car? thats right. you do... so it really doesnt matter what people think. its what you think that matters the most.
i personally think the gto is pretty nice for a car. its obviously alot cheaper than the BMW and its a 6.0L V8 pushing 400hp and 400 to the wheel... which is alot better performance wise than the bmw with 2.5L I6 with 215hp--i dont know about the torque. on the other hand if you add styling to the whole mess, i think its pretty obvious that the pontiac could never match a BMW's look... and general aurora. its all up to you but i think you should go with the bmw if you can...and goodluck! |

Are we really comparing these two? The Pontiac (GM) will fall apart inside 5 years like everything else Detroit builds. The BMW will still be as solid as when it was built. Just my opinion. Bottom line... Get what YOU want, not what everyone else thinks you should have. Good luck and have fun with whatever you get.

If I were your age, I would go for Subaru WRX Sti.
It is fast, easy to find the aftermarket performance parts. This is just my opinion.
