US of A, from a BMW dealer on ebay... guess they're having a tough time selling performance parts.
Where'd you get yours from?

gee $600 for a piece of carbon fibre that attaches to your car by means of a double-sided tape is plain wrong...
if i were to go down that way i'd get one of them (rear spoiler) fake replicas from taiwan or china for a fraction of that cost! an ///M 1 badge would probably give more performance increase (sarcasm) anyway. On that note, anyone wants my BMW Performance Accent strips? Decided to keep the clean look, strips are new. Cheers

dude, i'm totally expecting to see massive performance improvements.
You're right though, it's a completely asthetic option, just figured i'd put one on to make the car a little more individual. They look really nice on the white 125i's.

yeah, i just wanted to give it a little more agressive look. Probably once i've had it a while i'll lower it a little onto some nice Eibach proline springs or something like that. An exhaust and CAI would be nice, but that's further down the track.

Cheers Taka. I love the stealth look too. Hence the name Qship. I just hate that bit of grey plastic in the rear bumper. It is so out of place given all the other detailing on the car is black.
Zuzu, still in for the diffuser. Any idea of a timeframe? Thanks for your efforts on this.

Yes, it's funny how I couldn't justify $1200 on a diffuser, but i can justify $1300 on crystal rock... go figures..

Another option is to just have the rear diffuser painted.. I had mine painted in SGM(Saphire Grey Metalic) some ten months ago and it looks fantastic and clean..Only cost $250 to paint after I removed and installed myself. |

So I could potentially paint it in BSM? Would that be gay? Or painted like yours...?

Yeah I don't . I rather save up for a tune....
But a shiny paint is much better than plastic... especially when after 1-2 years the plastic changes colour and shine.

Still....Painting the rear diffuser is a cost affective option to give your beast that edge in looks, without draining your piggy bank balance for your tune..

I'm still interested in the carbon fibre diffuser. I don't mind the painted diffuser but it still looks a bit plain imho. the bmw performance diffuser looks perfect and if this supplier can make us an exact replica for 1/3 of the price it seems like a bargain. I think the diffuser with the spoiler will make a huge difference to the appearance of the car and it will look alot more individual.
Maybe we should get a list going for those that are interested to see where we are at. $1200 is the max price we're looking at so far. |
