135i 1/4 mile results. JB4 tune only!

Managed to pull a 12.68 1/4 mile with a terrible 0.7 reaction time. This was my first time at the track and it was my first run. No attempt was made to do any sort of weight reduction. I also had a 1/2 tank of gas.

Lastest JB4 firmware was used with Map 5 enabled.

I am extremely happy with the time considering I am all stock except for the JB4 tune. The run was done on All season Conti Sport DWS tires (definitely not good for traction on 1st or 2nd gear)

I think it is very possible to get a 135i to do 12.0 1/4 mile with just a JB4 tune. Traction is the only problem.

Oh, I did have my first gear boost set to stock psi (8), and this helped a lot with traction.

RT has nothing to do with your quarter time btw. The ONLY time you should ever worry about RT is when you are racing someone else or running a pro tree for practice.

That said, your 60' is why you only ran a 12.6 cut that down to a 1.6 60' and you will see 12.0-12.2 easy.

Great times for just a tune and nothing else. What year is your car?

Thanks, it's a 2008 (all the details in the video). The link for the youtube video is in the post, however, I couldn't add it where the video shows up within the thread. Something is screwy with the youtube tabs?

Man, that Goat had a horrible 60'. Im sure he can run faster than that. But yea, dont worry about your reaction time. Your time starts once you leave the line, just worry about your 60'. Thats a nice time for sure, what RPM did you leave at? I'm just going to tune my car and its nice to see what it can do. Get some better tires and you'll be good.

The GTO had an LS2, 12.3 was his best time. I believe I launched under 2300 RPMs.

I used to have an 06 GTO, so I know his issues with traction. Nice to see 135i are going to be the same way, is that about the best spot for the car to launch?

For the street tires I had, yes. I tried around 3000 RPMs and I had too much wheel spin. So the launch RPM will be based on the tires used.

The GTO had quite a bit of mods as well.

Next time at the track, I will be more prepared. This was my first time so I really didn't know how to prepare until trying it. I will attempt to run Map 7 (if possible), and have my downpipes installed.

get some nitto nt01's or something similar, mount them on a set of track specific wheels.

its not hard to swap them out really quick at the track.
