265 PSS on OEM M261s w/ slight rubbing

I couldn't find much info on this as I researched and many people said it couldnt be done but they fit fine and I'm not even at stock ride height. The traction with 255s was awful and the LSD barely helped, these 265s were a pretty solid improvement in straight line traction.

I'm running:
Koni yellows
Dinan Springs
Stock camber
261M rims

They do rub slightly on the on the freeway when I hit bumps but I plan to roll them a tad. 275s should be fine with a more aggressive offset (9.5 et60)

265s call for a minimum rim width of 9", the tire is over stuffed on that small width wheel
Check out willtheyfit.com you can see a geometric diagram
I'm surprised you aren't rubbing way more

They're not buldged at all and BMW did a similar thing putting 235s (maybe it was 245s) on 7.5in rims on the M3 years back. So far control and feel have not been compromised and straight line grip is greatly improved. We'll see how they hold up at Buttonwillow next week.

The minimum recommended wheel width for a 265/35 PSS is 9" but we all know people don't always follow that. The biggest issue I see is the 261M ET52 offset, as it doesn't leave much room to go wider due to tire to inner fender clearance.

I think it will be ok but I'd keep an eye on outside tire wear, pressures and temps. Abnormal wear and high pressures will obviously show signs of overheating. You didn't mention your rear camber specs (edit: sorry you did say stock) but anything within the range of -1.5 > -2.0 should be good. If you know your toe spec, that would be helpful too.

Personally I would look into new wheels with proper offsets and widths.

Let us know how they hold up at the track.

yep, I'm heading to my shop this weekend to compress the rear suspension on the lift so I can view where it's rubbing. Apex rims are probably coming soon with an appropriate offset.

Just have someone roll them for you, should be fine.

I'm not 100% sure that the rubbing is on the outside fender, closer to 99% haha
