Sorry, 338 or 340 will be $42K plus, not $40K plus.

It is like saying "I am gonna cripple your car unless you pay extra grand for options you do not want to get otherwise". Someone else was bitching about "detunig" 330i's engine. I think detuning makes sense because you need to pay more money for more horse power (besides how would you explain to people who had bought 330i before if BMW sold a "new" 330i for a lot cheaper). However, the limiter is a RIP OFF. I would not spend my hard earned $1,000 - $1,200 to get shinny and bigger rims or to look faster otherwise.
um, the sports package comes with more than just a limiter delete. It gives you some pretty comfortable sport seats and an M steering wheel. In my eyes, i'm going to be using these two everyday i drive the car. And after market opitions won't have the fit a finish of the oem one, and will look tacky unless you have a stripped down track monster. And everyone knows the 2002 is just a marketing scheme. I mean, how can anyone believe a car made in 70s can be anything but a spiritual ancestor to the 135i.

I understand sports package comes with more than just 155mph limiter, but my point is it should come absolutely for FREE. I am repeating what I said, BMW is saying "I will cripple your car unless you are paying extra $1,000 to $1,200 regardless of you want it or not. Not cool.

It's mainly due to them not wanting people driving 155mph in a car that is neither suspended or has tires that are rated for that speed. I certainly don't blame them.

All season tires are supplied on the non-sports packaged 128i and are generally H speed rated, summer tires on the 135i are generally V or Z rated. Here's a guide that shows you the speed limits of each:
  • S - for speeds up to 112 MPH
  • T - for speeds up to 118 MPH
  • H - for speeds up to 129 MPH
  • V - for speeds up to 149 MPH
  • Z - for speeds above 149 MPH
    * I do agree on the 135i w/o sports package though.

1. Cupholders. Only 2 in the car.
2. Armrest. Does not slide or adjust for comfort. Blocks one cupholder... so basically the car can hold 1 drink.
3. Sun Visor. Very small and feels cheap.
4. USB and Audio cable in a very awkward place.

As you can see... All very minor and cosmetic details. I love my E82 lol.

The second cupholder in my '08 is by far the most poorly designed item in any car ever. Nothing will fit with the armrest down so you have to put the armrest up. It's insane.

The cup holders are not large enough for my 128 ounce mountain dew. Also, totally unrelated, the seats are too small for my huge ass.

The "snap-on drink holder" (51169122655) fits an (unopened) 24 oz. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (OR EQUIV) perfectly.

Yup. I have to invest in the damn snap on cup holder. Even though the old school cup holders that used to come out right above the glove compartment were trash at least it would have given us two functioning cup holders. Not 1 1/2 with the other 1/2 hidden by the armrest.

Wow, this thing's still alive. Well, from a driver's perspective there's lots of stuff, like no dipstick, no gauges, runflat tires, too small fuel tank and on and on. Embarrassing for "the ultimate driving machine" but in spite of all that, a straight six, rear wheel drive and a manual trans.- well, where else are you going to find that.

Ditto kturbos. Cup holders nearly useless and cheap visors.

An easy fix for no. 4 is a 2 ft USB extension cable.

My gripes are no trunk keyhole in later models and the rain sensing wiper mode. Why not just a simple rheostat instead of some over engineered sensor detecting how much water is on the windscreen.

I have long cords for it, thats not the issue. It is the fact that they are smack dab underneath the armrest and because the armrest height, you can only have certain cords or they jam into the bottom of the armrest causing damage to the cables or the actual jacks.

For me it's the lack of a dipstick. Other than that I love it. It like an Alfa GT/GTA/GTV on steroids!

Point taken. You need a cord with an offset plug. I just leave the cord in there full time.
