NorCal Recommendations on BMW Service Dept. and Personal Experiences

Just picked up my 135i and seeking a reputable BMW dealership in the NorCal/Bay Area. Any recommendations on any locations with great service and staff, particular service manager I should ask for, maybe past personal experiences with a location that I should avoid???

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

I've had great luck with the service department at Valley BMW in Modesto. I purchased my '09 CPO 128i two months ago and so far I've had to replace the AC evaporator, the stereo head unit and the USB lead. My service advisor is Roland and he's been great. The loaner program is nice too, both times I was given a FULLY loaded 2011 335i with less than 1k miles!

I was impressed with the service advisors at East Bay BMW in Pleasanton. If you're going to do any aftermarket installs or when you're out of warranty, check out Performance Technic in Pleasanton. I live nowhere near Pleasanton, but both these places stand out and are worth the trip.

I gotseriously screwed by BMW Concord in my 1st attempt to buy my 1M (and I was a previous buyer there - X5) so they get no more of my business..

I can highly recommend Jeff Johnston at Sonnen BMW (formerly Sf BMW and Concord BMW). Jeff is a true enthusiast and has the highest personal ethics. He has helped me significantly with previous issues (even out of warranty repairs)..

Tell David I. in Marin sent you and he will oversee everything that is done to your car.

I got screwed over in buying a 1M too from my dealership. It was ridiculous. But the service department is much different personel-wise at any dealership in comparison to the purchasing department.

I use bmw sf because it is close to me. I have read mixed reviews on the dealership but I have been treated well by them.

They never questioned any of my suspension mods or my ER widebody kit for services, however, they did ask me to remove my intercooler and chargepipe before they could replace my low pressure fuel pump sensor.

It is pretty obvious the parts are unrelated and they were just acting out of policy. I changed the parts out and brought it back and they replaced the sensor.

If you do not plan to mod the car too much I would say you will be in good hands at most dealerships but when you plan on doing anything in the engine bay, especially visible stuff you may have some issues. how cool they are with the issues will vary from dealership to dealership and possibly even from Service Advisor to Service Advisor.

who was your service advisor at bmw sf? I went there once and they were alright. Btw you know what "Roel" at peter pan bmw said to me? He was like "are you setting me up" and when i told him to drive the car back in so i can do a check, he said "Really NOW?" Terrible guy. wtf. Plus I left him a voicemail about a recording i found about the problem and its 2hr already and he still didnt call back.

I agree with ilikebmxbikes, SF BMW is pretty good but not great. Jeff is my SA and he's always accommodating with loaners even though I got my car at Coast BMW in SLO. My car is barely modded though so that maybe why I haven't had any issues regarding warranty.

I have been happy with East Bay in Pleasanton. They always have loaners and are quite accommodating . A big plus is they are open Saturdays. I am much closer to Concord but they are awful to deal with, never have loaners, appointments scheduled far out etc...
