I've run General Exclaim UHP on a couple of my cars in the past.... they preformed admirably in all weather conditions I drove them in and are fairly inexpensive.

You might want to check out the Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires. I have have a set on my car and for me they have performed quite well in all weather conditions (6-7" of snow included).

I have the Michelin Pilot A/S Plus tires in f225 and r255. They perform much better than the RFTs that came on the car. In the dry they seem to have excellent grip and are much better than All-seasons and even some summer tires I've had before. I've also driven them in snow and ice several times and they performed ok...snows are definitely better, but if you are careful and in light use they go well (also turn and brake well). In the wet they are excellent also. They are fairly quiet and have a long tread wear rating. All around they are a great tire.
I was in the same situation that I could not have separate set-ups, and I needed 4 season drivability, but I wanted something that wouldn't be so much of a compromise. The only problem is that these tires are expensive (1100+ for the set), but being its the only part of the car that touches the road I don't mind spending the money on good tires. Good Luck, Tim

kumho asx is also a totally reliable and very cheap option. i got 225/40-18 on all 4 corners for under $550 shipped. they perform as well in the dry as any allseason tire i've used too.
