Lowest offset/Widest wheel/Widest Tire-CCW Wheels

Hey everyone, ive seen a ton of e36 and e46 owners run custom CCW wheels. I had LM's on my e46 M3.

What is the lowest offset?

Widest wheel?

Widest tire?

I am on the fence with either 18's or 19's.

***Without any fender work at all***

Im thinking (probrably pushing it):

18x8.5 fronts 235/40/18
18x9.5 rears 265/35/18

or

19x8.5 fronts 245/35/19
19x9.5 rears 275/30/19

1.)Classics in 18's:

2.)SP550 in 18's or 19's:

3.)505a's in 18's or 19's:

low offset and wide wheel don't go hand in hand on the 1 series. If you want wide then you'll need high offsets. Luckily you can get meet onto these cars without having to roll fenders.

255 front has been done by a few. BERK just posted up photos of the ARC-8 prototype wheel with a 255 front and a 275 rear on a 9.5" rear. And they'll be testing a 285 on that rear setup (which looks like it's going to fit with ease).

You can't go aggressive with the offset in the rear on the 1 series otherwise you'll rub.

With negative camber you can push the front offsets a bit since you need strut tube clearance anyway, but realistically anything wider then an 8.5" wheel with decent rubber becomes a major compromise (ie. stretched tires).

depends on many factors, are you planning on lowering the car?

Thanks for the info, im looking for a flush look with no fender rolling. So 8.5 is the widest you can go in the rear w/o rubbing?

Yes I will lower the car but with something mild like a koni/eibach combo.

You can do 9.5" in the rear if they are around a 60mm offset. The fronts are the tough one for a wide wheel, but an 8.5" wheel with the right offset should be fine in front. More negative camber will help tire clearance also.

We run a 18x10 in the rear, runing Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 285/30/18. No fender roll. We do rub the plastic inside the quarterpanel though. If you roll it I think it fixes that.

I'm thinking about either the SP16A http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelpr...y.php?id=SP16a

or the

LM20 http://www.ccwheel.com/files/wheelpr...ay.php?id=LM20

in 18x8 et45 and 18x9 et48 or 50

the SP16A are single piece forged so I am favoring those.

does anyone know how to get a discount on CCW's?

I was thinking of getting CCWs for my 135i. John Purner knows a lot about wheels. I am glad for him and the success with CCW. I have had classics (anodized black centers and polished rims) for my Z06 that I tracked. I ordered them directly from him. He knows vettes very well. Those wheels were great.

M3_Dust, I agree the one piece SP16A is very attractive and I like it. But I will say the classic three piece is a great wheel and has extra benefits. Being three piece, if it gets damaged they can be very easily fixed. I will say that the SP16A is probably easier to keep clean. Although my classics were not hard either and they were just track wheels after all.

I might look at classics with brushed titanium anodized centers and polished rims or maybe all ti anodized.

So the OP has a good thread started and I also hope for the best fitment specs as well. I only want street wheels, so I am not looking for the biggest tire I can fit. So I might go conservative in 8/9" widths and 225/255 tires if rubbing on 8.5/9.5 235/265 is an issue. My car will remain stock suspensioned and no fender rolling.
