As of right now, no. Only 3 series & 5 series cars right now can have the body kits installed before the car arrives. On those cars, they are installed at the VPC. Also they typically just do body modifications not exhausts etc.

Thinking about investing in the windshield/tire/wheel/ding insurance policy. It costs $699. A few questions:

(1) If I get new tires, are the new tires covered?

(2) Will I get a new windshield for a star or will they just replace it?

(3) If my wheels get bent, will I get new wheels or are there some conditions on what damage is covered and what is not? (I had bent wheels on my last car and they wanted $900 to fix them)

(4) Any other caveats on this policy that are not covered?

Leather question - I see posts asking about about Terra leather as an option. Do they mean Terra Cotta or Terra? They are 2 very different colors so I'm a bit confused. Which leather is still available for the 1 series as a special order? I was told by one CA that only Terra Cotta is available, but some of the posts and pictures seem to be showing Terra.

When can you actually get confirmation of a date for PCD?

Is it after the dealer puts in an order? After it starts the build process? Later?

I want something in mid-September and was hoping it could be go ahead and be scheduled. I am not very flexible with the dates, so that is one reason why I order so soon... in hopes of getting exactly the date I want.

I have a question about how long it usually takes to receive a production number...

I placed my deposit for my 135i in mid March (March 8, 08), and I called yesterday (June 19, 08) to ask my CA if I had a production number yet. His response was "That he still had 3 people in front of me waiting for allocations from his dealership" ...... ok, so question time.

What the usual wait time from placing the deposit to receiving a production number? And does anything I have said sound.... abnormal?

Wow, that is ludicrous. Unless you paid a very low price, you may want to think about canceling and going with a dealership that will give you an allocation immediately (as long as you want your car now). Many people on here get there production number right after ordering, meaning that the dealer does have an allocation to give.

I hope they are least told you what you were getting into. Normally, if a dealer has an allocation to give, it will take ~2 month to arrive.

If you can't get your dealer to give you a July allocation, you may really want to considering finding a dealer that will.

Just my opinion... maybe some other can chime in as well.

As was explained to me:

• it will cover any tires you have on the car
• Depends how big the pit/ star is. if something simple to fix they will, otherwise replace
• bent wheel are replaced (unless used for racing or something other) there is also some gray area on rims for aftermarket rims, those may not get covered
• Our warranty sets it so you pay upfront, and then get reimbursed

terra cotta, the dark almost football colored leather is what is available

typically within 2 weeks of placing an order I can confirmed dates

None that I know of, I don't think our dealership has had any issues as of yet. We are a relatively small center, so our general exposure is not as much

No, I paid full MSRP. Or will when/if I ever get my car.

I was told 8-12 weeks, Here I sit and week 16 and not even a Production Number. I guess I'll just have to eat the $500 deposit and go to an other dealership if I'm going to have a chance of getting my 1'er before the summers out.

Just sucks because I feel like I've wasted 16 weeks when I could have got 2 cars produced and delivered in the time I've waited...

Not to mention $500...
