Not enough storage in E90?
OK, I got my car for 3 weeks now. I still can't find good place to place my :
1 - Garage door opener remote 2 - Coins 3 - Toll Tag (Which I stick it on the windsheld on my pervious car, but since the E90 doesn't have the [Coloured] windsheid, it look ugly). 4 - Handsfree for cell phone. I know some of you may say the car have Bluetooth, and Homelink, so don't need 2 of those items. But i just can't afford the price for those package. Anyway.....did anyone feel the same, this car doesn't have enough storage space in the front..... This is my first BMW, and I used to Japanese car that have couple place to store small items. (If I said something wrong, please take it easy.....I saw what happen when someone said something wrong after he posted his very expensive custom exhaust)

Not alot of space inside. I refuse to use the door pockets to hold anything, so I'm really left with nothing. I ordered the sunglass tray to replace the ashtray, so I should get some use there. The center counsol is not deep so after my ipod, there's not much space left. For stuff left over, I throw them intot he trunk. I guess the good thing about this is that I travel with less crap and there is less stuff inside the car to rattle around.

Agreed, storage is poor, more especially if one is a golfer!

Absolutely agree. Especially since if you do use your door pockets, you have whatever it is that you do store clingeling around!!
My old Audi had more space, from usefull little compartments you could put spare change in (rathen than in the ashtray) to a very cool drawer under each of the front seats, which were just big enough to hold CDs). BMW should work on this issue. |

Also, I missed the sunglasses too. Too bad I can't add HomeLink only....otherwise it will help (One less item). How much is the Sun-Glasses tray? anyone know? And is it easy to install???? I see people posted it here, but I am not sure will I be able to do it myself.

i agree. my old e46 had the perfect storage area for my sunnies right on the front console. perfect fit, it was. the garage control now sits in place of the front ash tray. i took out the bits and the control just fits, although todays controls are no bigger than a usb flash memory unit that you can pop on your key chain.
the centre console is terrible compared with my wifes c180k console. the merc has a 2 stage unit with massive room. i too refuse to keep anything in the door recepticals. i think in this case we are thinking pretty much alike here. i also store my street directory in the boot storage space provided under the floor, where the spare tyre would have otherwise been stored as i have idrive in my car. other than my prescription sunnies & small pack of tissues in the centre and non prescription sunnies in the glove box for when i wear my contacts, i dont store anything else in my car.

I don't remember seeing the sunglass holder in the accessories catalog. I will have to check this out, as it sounds interesting.
I am putting my coins in the ashtray right now, but I don't really care for that. I now have no space for gum wrappers, etc. And I can occasionally hear the coins rattle.

i put the coins in the front ash tray, just easier and i honestly don't hear much noise from there when i drive either, and i don't have idrive so i can put my small trash and junk in the space in front of the arm rest too...
used to put my sunglasses in the center arm rest but they were a hassle to get, found out they fit nice and snug in drive side pocket...there is a little divide in the pocket and the nose piece of my glasses rest on it, never moves around at all.. as far as garage door opener and handsfree, in my old car i just clipped the opener to the sun visor, but now i got homelink and bluetooth... |

Granted, it is $450 US but it is available by itself [requires auto-dimming mirrors]. |

right now, Bigest problem, personally is the remote control, since I don't want to clip it on the visor, because I know it will leave a mark there.

I have not tried very hard, but has anyone been able to get their owner's manual into the glove box. In all other cars, this is where I store it. Right now, I'm storing my e90 manual in the trunk.
