I am confirmed and look to be the only 128i... I would have figured there would a couple of those. I guess it will give me something to feel special about when I get trounced by everyone else in D-class.

The stock tires will surely be a major source of my downfall (along with lack of skill of course). Buy hey, once I chew them up, it will give me an excuse to get something better...

We almost have a disadvantage for too much power with crap tires tho.. Last year I understeered a ton around sharp corners cuz I'd be going so fast into them with this awesome JB3 added! Roldan was doing pretty simular times to Rachel and myself and he was completely stock!

yeah dude that's a pretty good point, esp when you figure that all we have is a macgyvered lsd trying to fudge it with 30% more power

guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks

god i really hope i don't put my foot in my mouth on this one...

He actually had better tires. He ditched the run-flats and had some dunlops on his performance rims.

Not quite dunlops, Potenza RE760s.. I'm not convinced they're much better than the stock RFTs. They ride a lot nicer and were way cheaper, but I doubt they're much grippier - I keep regretting not having gotten the Dunlop star specs.

Then again, for street driving and in the wet the RE760s are probably better and they should last way longer.

Sorry about the mis-info!! Your rims look stellar though!

I forgot to register on time so it looks like I will end up on the very very long wait list. Not much of a chance I'll be at this one. For some reason I thought it was this friday instead of last friday that registration opened.

I finally got the my BMWCCA issues resolved and new tires (Nitto NT05) are on the way, so I should be in for the next one. Now, I just need to remember how drive.

I just picked up a set of new Goodyear Eagle GS-D3's in 235/40 r17 for about $325 shipped off eBay. Probably not the best autoX tire, but hard to beat for the price. I think they are a discontinued size or something.

Now I just need to get them mounted up and break them in a little bit before Sunday. Needless to say, these should perform much better than the stock 205/225 combination.

Should be good times!

How picky is the club regarding helmets, i.e., Snell rating?

All mounted up and ready to go! I put them on last night and (carefully) took them out in the rain to wear them in a bit. Man they were slick as all hell as my friends might say. Anyway, just made it easy to spin the tires a to get a head start on the wear-in process before Sunday....

Initial indication are no rubbing mounted on 17x8 et40 wheels. I haven't had a chance to do much in the hard corners since I did not want to kill myself in the rain on new tires.

I picked up a Pyrotect Sportsman open-face M2005 helmet for about $100. Should work fine for autoX. If you are thinking on doing track days, you may want the SA2005 version or a better helmet.
